Fairmont Breakers Long Beach

Stayed at the Fairmont Breakers in March 2025 and absolutely loved it. Yes, it was expensive—but everything about the experience felt special. The hotel is stunning, elegant, and very well maintained. The service stood out: everyone was genuinely friendly, accommodating, and attentive. I especially appreciated that staff remembered me, greeted me warmly, and always offered help as I walked through the doors. There were plenty of comfortable and inviting places to sit and relax throughout the hotel, which gave the whole place a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The gym was on the smaller side, but it was always empty when I went, so it worked out perfectly. If I had to point out one area for improvement, it would be communication. I would have appreciated more clear and proactive information at check-in about restaurant hours, reservation requirements, and events happening at or near the hotel. I had to do my own research to figure out dining options and missed out on the fine dining restaurant because I didn’t realize reservations book up quickly. That said, it was a wonderful stay overall, and I’m already planning to return in February or March next year. A beautiful property with excellent service—I highly recommend it.

As with many hotels these days, the Fairmont has lowered the ethics bar and charges a non-optional 'resort experience fee'. If this is not optional, it should be included in the published nightly rate - full stop. All of these hotel chains are playing this game so that they can show the lowest nightly rate on hotels.com, etc, but it's a blatant scam. Expedia and the other travel sites shouldn't be complicit in this game - they should block hotels who employ these unethical business practices, or force them to publish the price that you actually have to pay.

They have like a library bar that has the feel of a speakeasy and I believe Thursday to Saturday they have live music with rotating genres. Roof top bar is nice too. We had a suite and it still smelled brand new. Nice spacious clean. The two restaurants we had was good too. We’d go back for another staycation there or even just for a drink.

From the moment of check-in, this hotel delivered on professionalism and accommodation. I was here for a conference last week and the walk to the conference building was quick, safe and easy. I was upgraded at no cost to a suite, which was BEAUTIFUL. If I ever come back to Long Beach, this place #1 on my list to book. I haven't been sad to leave a hotel in a while, but I hated to leave! The touch sensitive light switches throughout the rooms were convenient and easy to use. I was surprised to see such a high tech addition. My only gripe would be the A/C, it was cool, but never kept the room super cold. It was never enough to complain to the front desk about though.

Superb accommodations and staff! Our go-to Staycay place in Long Beach area. And love the live music at the Alter Eg0.

Location is on point! This is a brand new hotel so everything is in great condition. The staff is AMAZING!!! They are super friendly, helpful and great attitude. We used the bar at the lobby and the bartenders were amazing as well. Would highly recommend!
