GBGBThe price of the room and the pool. Honestly having a pool to cool down after a hot day is a godsend. Not the flashiest pool in the world but it does the trick.
No sugar. This has got to be a first. Of the hundreds of hotels I've stayed in all over the world, this is the very first hotel that doesn't supply sugar sachets. Like WTF? They have those all in one mix packs of coffee, sugar and milk just not regular sugar sachets. Weird.

AUA character property in all the best ways, super convenient being situated right in the centre of historic Georgetown, buses almost right outside the door, bars, restaurants, temples, cafes, supermarket nearby. Historic Clan House across the street. Scrupulously clean. I paid a bit extra & had a large spacious room. It came equipped with hairdryer, shampoo etc, 1ltr of water daily, kettle, tea & coffee & AC. It had enormous high ceilings & vast living areas beautifully decorated with tasteful Chinese furniture. Rooms were occupied but It was v quiet. I could hear a singer in the distance on Fri & Sat nights but not late & did not keep me awake. The pool was divine & comes with 3 beautiful tiles shower rooms & a wall if 3 hairdryers adjacent. I was there in April 26 & I could not believe what a serene magnificent property it was. Staff friendly & very attentive to my requests. Highly recommend.

FIThe location was good, the interior was nice classic style.
The staff was indifferent, sometimes even unpolite. This seems to be a common problem in Malaysia. The staff did speak and understand English well but they are totally lacking the small compliments and gestures that are essential in customer service. Especially the young staff members are so focused on their cell phones ( on duty!) that one barely dares to interrupt them. Often they respond with irritation. It's like nobody ever taught them how to behave with the guests?

PTGreat location nearby night activities and main streets. The entrance is really nice and you expect things to match on the inside, but the cool part of this hotel remains outside of the entrance lobby, unfortunately.
The bedroom is next to an exterior area and outside conversations between guests could be heard late at the evening. Comfort was next to zero, with very loud and not maintained ceiling fan and AC. Bathroom water pressure was very low and there's no curtains, so toilet and toilet paper ended up all wet after a bath. Staff appeared unwilling. We asked them to fix the cable TV with no avail. They simply just showed up and tried to fix the TV at the outside of the room, and gave us the remote not bothered at all with the fact that the TV was still not working.
