Romance - Stargazing - Hot tub & sauna!

The description of this dome is MISLEADING, and most of the photos are OUT OF DATE and do not reflect the current UNLUXURIOUS state of the dome. So that you don't feel as DUPED as us, here are some updates... There is a SECOUNDARY FRAME BUILT OVER THE TOP OF THE DOME which PROHIBITS stargazing!!! The dome has had amateurish repairs with gaffer tape and been sprayed gold. THERE IS NO PRIVATE ENTRANCE. The open footpath allows ANYONE on site to walk straight up to the hot tub, to the outside seating area, and to the entrance to the dome. PRIVACY AND SECLUDED are inaccurate descriptions. We NEVER FULLY RELAXED just in case someone approached. There is no mention of RESTRICTED HEAD HEIGHT in the description. My partner is 6'2" and spent the entire time stooped to avoid knocking himself out. The HOT TUB is NOT WITHIN SIGHT of the dome and is sited in a MOULDY CLAUSTROPHOBIC TENT. . The WOOD BURNER is actually just a PLUG IN ELECTRIC HEATER. THERE IS NO PARKING OUTSIDE THE DOME. You walk from a communal car park along a shale path, so there are no pulling suitcases on wheels. It is difficult to know where to start with the KITCHENETTE. - Sliding doors that don't slide - No preparation area for food. - Rusty worktop fridge big enough to store 6 bottles of water, nothing else.. - Microwave, kettle, coffee machine, and toaster provided but NOT IN KITCHENETTE, INSTEAD ON COFFEE TABLE IN BEDROOM with no prep area. - Missing crockery. - Missmatched glassware. - Cutlery stored in a bowl at floor level. The one breakfast provided, regardless of your length of stay, consisted of... - PLASTIC WRAPPED LONGLIFE croissants - PLASTIC WRAPPED LONGLIFE waffles - LONGLIFE carton of milk - LONGLIFE carton of juice - Unidentified jar of unsealed something, not labelled for allergens. THE BATHROOM IS LAUGHINGLY DESCRIBED AS LUXURIOUS. The sink is a SMALL HAND BASINl. There is NO SURFACE for toiletries. The round toilet seat DID NOT FIT the square toilet bowl.

How quiet the area was, everything was clean and fresh, exactly how it was described.

Lovely and private, it felt like our own spa facility. Everywhere was very clean. The bed was really comfortable.

Super peaceful place to stay especially with the other half with no noise other than nature. It was the perfect getaway

It was a lovely stay for me and my partner. The facilities were absolutely spot on and made for a super relaxing time. I’d recommend this to anyone needing a relaxing weekend away, we said you could get away with never leaving the property on your weekend.

Stylish, safe location. Nice amount of space.

Hygiene wasn’t the best. Lots of cobwebs, dirty blanket, jacuzzi definitely needed a clean - it was very off putting. Building work being done on other property on site, when we wanted a peaceful stay.

Dome bedroom was lovely, bed was comfy, nice large bath and bathroom, air con was a nice touch

Continental breakfast was pitiful (a couple of long life croissants / UHT milk nothing fresh) only supplied for one day, kitchen was just a sink and fridge in the boiler cupboard, general maintenance required, not very clean, scum in hot tub and hot tub did not get dipped / checked daily as described

We had the perfect stay! I booked for my boyfriend’s 21st birthday and even though it was rainy we had great and cozy time using the gorgeous facilities, e.g a sauna and hot tub. Andrea kindly decorated the apartment with birthday banners and even gave us a bottle of fizz and a card! So beyond generous and so many thoughtful details to make us have the best weekend. When the rain cleared up we found a nice walk in the book left by the hosts and went to a warm, friendly pub recommended as well called the st Michael’s mount inn, nestled in lovely Barriper. Would really recommend this place :)

Virtually nothing.

We travelled for five hours to get there, excited and looking forward to our stay, but it was so awful we left after an hour and drove all the way home feeling very upset. It did not live up to the photos and bears little resemblance to the previous reviews. It was much smaller than expected, grubby and smelled damp. The main living ‘pod’ was cramped, and had a strange layout (who wants a microwave in the bedroom?). The bedding looked very tired and worn out, one of the chairs in the bedroom was sticky. There were plenty of places we had to duck to avoid banging our heads (and we are both below 5’7”). The ‘kitchen’ is a sink and a fridge crammed into a cupboard with sliding doors that don’t really slide. The cutlery and crockery wasn’t clean. The only things we used were two glasses for water, and even those we had to wash before use. As to the continental breakfast, it was two sweaty, plastic-wrapped waffles and a handful of muesli! The bathroom was a little better, but again was grubby. The bath looked nice, and if it had been clean it would have been inviting. The toilet seat doesn’t stay up. For some reason there were two pairs of used Croc sandals in the bathroom; did the owners really expect us to put our feet in those? They looked like they had been used for gardening! The sauna could have been good, but why does it have a stained carpet? It also smelled as though it had not been cleaned. The hot tub was in a separate tent/dome, which was mouldy and had quite a population of flies in it. We would not have felt comfortable getting into that. As to the location, although it was outside Camborne (which is quite run down) there was a lot of road noise, as well as hammering from somewhere nearby. It certainly did not seem to be a quiet country location. Overall we felt hugely let down and angry. We spent so much on the property but felt we couldn’t comfortably stay there. I suggest this is one to avoid.
