No hot water, shower stand broken. Room was falsely advertised with a private pool, which is part of the hotel, and as a guest of the residences you have to pay 200 pesos per day per person to have access to the pool. When choosing rooms, it is not clear wether you book a room in the hotel or an apartment that is privately owned and managed, limiting access to the hotel facilities like room service, pool, shuttle service etc.
AUPlace is very clean. The caretaker was very helpful, the orientation went smoothly. He was very well connected with businesses offering discounts at restaurants and day trip options but it's always best to keep an open mind and DYOR. Amenities provided were bath towels, an extra bed, traditional Filipino sleeping mat, wifi, rice cooker, shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, fridge, utensils and plates. The amenities provided were enough for you to have a staycation and not leave the property. The room is conveniently located to be a short walk from the concierge or main lobby and from the guard house. There is a bus stop for the Boracay Hop on Hop Off bus Infront of the guard house which is very convenient. The air-conditioning of the property is top notch, it helped us survive the very warm humid weather. The two queen size beds at the loft were firm, very clean and doesn't squeak. The lights and switches were all labeled so as to not get confused which switch is for which light. The property is great. 10/10 would recommend.
Party people would feel inconvenienced of its location as it's far from the main beach and considering the transport costs in Boracay is very expensive, going to and from places will cost you a lot. The pool access is not included in your stay, you have to pay extra. Since Alta Vista is very hilly, some drivers will charge you extra to drive to the room location, otherwise they will only drop you at the guard house and you have to climb a very steep pathway. Your legs will feel it. I wouldn't recommend you walk when it is raining because you might slip due to the incline and the presence of leaves of surrounding trees. The stay was for 3 days and 2 nights for 6 people, the estimate for toilet paper usage was not foreseen. We had to provide for ourselves.
