Host & Stay - May Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage! We loved the decor and the size of the rooms. It was well equipped with almost everything we needed. The secure courtyard and patio were a highlight, and parking nearby was completely stress-free. The location is ideal—just a short stroll from The Devonport, which we highly recommend for food and drinks.  .

Small suggestions for the host: A tin opener for the kitchen would be a great addition. Also, the toilet tank occasionally struggled to fill, which made a bit of noise at night, so it might be worth a quick look. Overall, a fantastic stay and we look forward to our next visit

Good location , close to Durham, Darlington ,Teesside

Lack of home comforts, no throws in living room, to get cosy, no fire . Kitchen not very well stocked with adequate cooking utensils , crockery etc . For example only one cup per person , so if in dishwasher no other cups !! 3 out of our party cut their fingers on a rusty nail on the staircase it wasn’t till we all got together the following morning that we realised what we had all done in separate incidents ! Bedrooms and beds very comfortable with quality bedding , this was much appreciated

What a wonderful, characterful and comfortable house! We all enjoyed our stay very much. The location was excellent for our planned activities and the house was a truly a home from home.

Great location in a great community house had everything you needed and was very comfortable and homely.

For such a long stay another set of bedding would have been great a couple of maintenance issues ie down stairs toilet was wobbly, a few down lights not working and a couple were flashing on and off when on, plant growing out of wall in lounge, and metal rubbish bin by back door was full of rubbish with maggots in it that I had too empty to remove the smell , fridge door not sealing properly at times other than that things all good

Well designed and laid out. Comfy furnishings and a well stocked kitchen with plenty of cooking essentials. Dogs allowed and not loads of restrictions making it feel more like home away from home.
