Wink Can Tho Centre, Unscripted by Hyatt - 24 Hours stay

The hotel exceeded our expectations! Fantastic pool and roof top bar. Beautiful family room with bunk bed and great shower head! Buffet breakfast had great selection!

We only stayed 2 nights!

For me, this was the one. Of the various places I stayed during my Vietnam+Cambodia trip, they were all okay at worst and exceptional at best, and if you're wondering which place was the exceptional one...yes, it was The Wink. The Wink is Hyatt's big hotel chain project in Vietnam, it seems, to make a hotel chain that is modern, hip, and sets a new standard for hotels in Vietnam. I believe they succeeded. There's no question that The Wink is more expensive than a lot of other options you'll have, but it's still cheap enough if you get paid in USD, and we are the target audience. Simply put, this is what you get for the price: - A good gym. You seriously can't a good hotel gym in Vietnam or Cambodia except for at The Wink. Good air conditioning, decent size (hardly anybody's working out on their vacation anyway), equipment working. In the 3 weeks I was on vacation, I was only able to do some cardio here on the treadmills, which was a blessing. - Laundry room. You just pay the machines and they deposit detergent for you. You can get notifications to your phone or e-mail (I forget if it's just e-mail or not) for when your laundry's done. I did use this since I was about 1.5 weeks or so into my vacation and it was a real help. - Great breakfast. I'm not going to describe the whole thing, but it's roughly as good as a hotel breakfast is going to get (that's a compliment, by the way). - Filtered water dispenser in the lobby. If you've never been to Vietnam, just trust me...this was a joy to have. Doesn't exactly take a brainiac to figure out why. Buying huge water bottles out of Circle K is fine and well, but it's just so much nicer to have a good water dispenser right in the lobby where you need it. - Really cool rooms and sweet staff. Pro tip: the windows' electronic shades lift switch is behind the pillows on the bed. Took me a while to figure out. It's your reward for reading this far.

I don't like that we don't have one of these in every city all over the world, if that's valid as a criticism.

The building is quite new, the facility is very good, although the room is a bit small but the warm and welcoming staffs well make up for it, a nice and pleasant experience.
