"Perfect Base for exploring the beautiful area"

9.0

Good location for visiting Northumberland. Near to a little supermarket so perfect for cooking meals etc. Host was easily contactable and sorted a small issue for us easily. The rooms were nice and comfy and the house had tons of space to accommodate everyone. The conservatory was lovely and a nice little garden.

No faults really. There were some towels missing but we contacted the host and they were dropped off right away. No major faults but some small improvements I can suggest were the TV was very small in the conservatory and we couldn't find a barbecue in the garden which we'd hoped to use.

"We enjoyed our stay at this property; it's just a pity that some aspects fell below our expectations"

7.0

The location was very quiet, with very pleasant surroundings in a comparatively new estate. Easy access to the B1337 road for visits to nearby towns. The house was generally light and airy, particularly in the conservatory. All beds were comfortable, and the Master Bedroom was quite spacious. The WiFi worked well, and having two TVs proved to be useful. Overall, the property represents good value for money at the price advertised.

We found the Lock Box for the door key rather difficult to open, due its awkward location. We were surpised to see the front of the house in need of a good clean around the porch and window areas. It's also a pity that the patio at the rear of the house has been allowed to deteriorate so much, leaving it in serious need of renovation. The absence of a shaver point and companion mirror in either the bathroom or the bedrooms was surprising, as was the lack of waste bins in those rooms. The flushing button for the upstairs toilet was uncomfortable to use due to its position behind the raised toilet lid and its large depth of travel. The weird controls for the shower made setting water temperature very challenging. If the issues raised in this review could be remedied, we would consider this property to be an excellent place to stay.

Very comfortable stay here - loved the large conservatory - beds were comfy- good shower - what more do you need! Also great it was dog friendly too although I always travel with extra covers and a rubber brush to clean up the dog hair!

Nothing to dislike

4.0

Location and quite housing estate

As there was an 5 year old in the group we eat out during the day and to keep his routine bed time ,we cooked in the evenings but Oven did not work correctly would not heat up to temperature due to no door seals or seals needed replacing !!!!!! , housekeeping could be have been better a lot of missed areas .The property could do with a second shower . We were a group of 6 adults and 1 child

"Comfortable stay for a short visit"

6.0

The property was suitable for our needs with a Co-op very close by. It had off road parking and outdoor space. It had most facilities for our stay. The house was comfortable on the whole.

The property was suitable for our needs but a little further away from the mian amenities than we had realised. Beds were very soft which was a problem for one member of our party. The downstairs area was specaious but seating area in the main living room which is a conservatory, was a bit cramped for 4 adults. The conservatory also got very hot when it was sunny so I imagine would be extremly hot in the summer and cold in the winter, though portable radiators are supplied. Could do with a more thorough clean.

"Lovely house, good facilities and easy commuting to the beach and Alnwick."

9.0

The house was ideally suited for us, as we had plans to visit Alnwick and Amble. Easy commute. It was really comfortable, we were cold the first evening but the heating worked well when we managed to notice it was switched off at the wall. The conservatory was very comfortable, light and airy, and became our preferred place for reading and watching telly. We contacted the owner over a couple of queries we had, and they were really helpful and friendly. The outside area was lovely, I can imagine it being a warm sun trap in the summer. We found a lovely Peel Hall and walled garden to visit at Cresswell, a few miles away, an unexpected pleasure, as was the beach there and the Drift Café. Widdrington itself is quiet, but there's a co-op and a chippy, and a decent pub.

Previous guests had filled the recycling bin with non-recyclable stuff, which was a nuisance as I always try to leave properties tidy / no rubbish. Not the owners' fault at all.

"Hoping to return in the sunshine"

8.0

The house was perfected situated for visiting my son in Pegswood, it’s within easy reach of the lovely beaches, our dogs would give it a 10 for location! We went with 3 generations of family. Lovely and warm, the weather was quite challenging but it didn’t spoil our visit. Good parking.
