The location is great.

The kitchen was very disorganized. The dish rack for drying dishes was filthy. The master bedroom was freezing with uncomfortable beds. The stairs were steep and could be dangerous for older people. There's stairs going up to the bedrooms and down to the play room. The family room was much smaller than the pictures made it seem and had a very dark ceiling , so you had to turn on overhead lights that felt like you were in a bright hospital while trying to watch TV. Just very uncomfortable for 7 people. Big Bear likes all dogs on leashes, but the neighbors 2 big dogs kept getting out and scaring my grandsons. I paid over $1k a night to bring my family here and felt duped.

Location

First, I would like to thank the host for accommodating us. However, there were several facts with the stay that future guests should be aware of. For the price we paid, which after some research appeared to be nearly three times higher than comparable properties in the area, the overall experience did not match the cost. The furniture and decor felt very outdated and had more of an estate sale or “grandma’s house” vibe rather than something that reflected the price point of the property. Cleanliness was also below expectations. I would not describe the property as particularly clean, which was disappointing given the premium price. Communication about house rules was another issue. Receiving house rules by text is normal, but during the first message listing specific monetary penalties for each possible violation did not feel welcoming and set an uncomfortable tone for the stay. The check-out time was also unusually early, which was surprising given the cleanness of property. Finally, it would be helpful if the property had a trash can or disposal area on site similar to neighboring homes. Having to keep trash in the car and drive around to dispose of it was inconvenient. I appreciate the host for having us, but overall the value and experience did not meet expectations, and unfortunately I would not recommend this property unless the price was less than half.

The cabin was very clean and in excellent condition

everything about the cabin was perfect. close to everything we needed and more.

So much space for family and cooking and close to everything. My teenagers loved the rooms and game room. Perfect family house
