Church Farmhouse - Castle View (4 bedroom) & Church View (2 bedroom)

The location for us was perfect, the parking space was very large and easy to manoeuvre vehicles, access into the property was easy to navigate and the space inside was spacious. The owner provided us with a hamper with local sauced produce and was very tasty.

Nothing that’s the property’s fault exiting the property onto the main road is rather blind you have to be extremely careful even though there is blind spot mirrors facing both ways just for future residents to bear in mind

The accommodation was in a very spacious stone house with character. We had the two bed Church View. The rest of the property is four bed accommodation. I guess you could have the whole house if you were a large group. It was very high standard and was very neat and clean on arrival. We were left a good food welcome pack and a lot of towels. Each of the bedrooms had their own en suite bathroom which were very high standard. The accommodation appeared wheelchair accessible although that wasn't relevant for us. There were very large safe gardens with lots of open space which would be great for kids. There was a very well equiped kitchen in a large sitting room plus a separate dining and seating area in a lovely conservatory. Plenty of games provided. There was a separate games room and laundry which we didn't use. TV and Wifi was good. The location was quiet and rural next to a farm with no other nearby properties - this is exactly what we wanted. It is near the interesting towns on the South coast and a short drive to the bigger towns further North on the Island. Parking was available outside the house and I think there was electric car charging although not relevant for us.

We were really happy with the accommodation and I am happy to recommend it. But one thing to note is that when you exit the property by car you are pulling out onto a fast road with very limited visibility left and right. Good quality mirrors are provided opposite the exit and you have to use these to check the road is clear before pulling out. This might be a bit of a challenge for drivers who are not comfortable or used to doing this. I believe there is an alternate exit through the farm which avoids this issue but we stuck to the nearby exit and used the mirrors.

It's a very nice property converted to a very high standard, with a lovely garden and surrounded by green spaces. Excellent parking including EV charges (untested) and great utility room for washing sports kit. Lovely size rooms all tastefully decorated. A really lovely place to spend time with family.

It's next door to a very noisy road. The traffic is extremely fast moving and at peak times very loud. The adjacent farm buildings seem to contain some sort of dogs which howl at night. Generally clean and tidy though a lot of cobwebs/dust suggested it was not thoroughly cleaned. We had a problem with a faulty heating system that it was not possible to deactivate. This meant that it was 27 degrees in every room on the first night and we did not sleep. Our host's response was less than ideal. I don't think he believed me or understood how unpleasant it was. In the end the system was deactivated but it took over 24 hours and was becoming a welfare issue as I was travelling with 2 elderly guests for whom the heat was becoming an issue. I got no empathy from the host.

Beautiful, gorgeous property with an excellent array of good quality equipment. Very well maintained and clean. Everything provided to make your stay welcoming and stress free. Dave left a good range of food as a welcome pack which was appreciated as we arrived late off the ferry. Short 20/25 min walk into Castletown, taxis available if needed. Dave was extremely helpful and sorted a couple of issues we had promptly and efficiently. Would definitely recommend church farmhouse if you want a relaxing, countryside stay within walking distance of the town.

The property was fantastic, it was in a great location just outside Castletown making it easy to travel around the island. Each bedroom was sizeable, and each had an en suite. The living space was beautiful, newly renovated it had everything you require for a comfortable short or long term stay.
