"A quirky and slightly ramshackle property, but it was ideal for a large family gathering."

7.0

The location is beautiful and rural. The property has a lovely garden and lots of outdoor seating, some with fairy lights, which must be lovely in the summer. On a fairly cool September weekend, all the rooms were warm and cosy, and there was plenty of hot water for everyone, and the beds were mostly comfortable (0ne of our party found their bed too soft). The property was sufficiently spread out so that the 2 couples with children were sufficiently separate so the children didn't disturb each other. A cot was supplied for the baby. The children slept with their parents as there weren't single beds. There were sufficient fridges and freezers.

There were 10 of us, plus a baby, so generated a lot of washing up. But there were no dishwasher tablets (I would advise bringing some), but as the same time the washing up liquid ran out - we found another bottle in one of the other kitchens, which we also finished. The freezer in the kitchen was unusable as it stank. In the Wackery the washing machine was full of washing, and there was a pile of rice on the book shelf! The property is incorrectly listed as Prestwick House, which is an entirely different, - and private, - property, so it was difficult to find.
