Communication with Stay Host Save (the letting agent) was very good. They have a portal which you have to login to and they use WhatsApp. But, by using these messaging services (not Booking.com) they were very keen for us the cancel our booking and re-book directly with them. I’m glad we didn’t because we had several problems with the flat (see below). The flat is located close to the city center which is good and the lifts in the building were fast and efficient. It was nice to have Netflix and a smart TV. The company agreed to refund some of our stay due to the problems below - this was much appreciated.

We had two bookings at this flat within the same few weeks as we were in Sheffield for a sports event. For our first trip the flat hadn’t been properly cleaned when we arrived - it was in fact really quite dirty. There were also multiple broken window blinds so the bedrooms weren’t dark, along with lots of broken lightbulbs and sockets. Light steamed in to bedrooms all night from nearby buildings. The bed linen was clean but very worn and of poor quality. The mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable to sleep on. Dishwasher was broken but also full of foul smelling water and old food. After we contacted the company, they did send someone to look at it but it wasn’t repaired. For our second trip the flat was very well cleaned, blinds and lightbulbs had been replaced. To note, there is no coffee machine as listed on Booking.com. Finally, the flat is really hot - windows hardly open and there aren’t any fans. It’s on the 9th floor and has huge windows so is like a greenhouse! If you stay with the company and have a problem, definitely contact them. Once we had, then they were good at getting things sorted. But, overall it was a trip filled with a lot of hassle to stay in a sub-standard flat.
