Stonegate Lodge Fire Pit 50in TV Salt Water Pool Fast Wi-Fi Room #301

My first requirement when booking hotel rooms is always to find rooms that score above 8 with Booking.com and then I look at affordability. Stonegate Lodge checked both those boxes, with the added perk of a really fun ambiance based on their detailed lodge decor! I found the contactless check in to be no problem at all. And because I read the reviews, when I needed an extra towel, i just sent a message thru the app as directed, and got a quick response. I was able to go down and get the towel from the office area myself. We also appreciated the waters in the fridge on arrival. My husband and I found the bed to be just fine - I see complaints about beds and pillows, but we had no issues and enjoyed the king sized bed ( we have slept in a queen for 30 years ). Lastly, we liked the location and being up on the highway. Easy access to everything you might want to do, including a trolley stop in front of the hotel for the busy season when you dont want to drive into downtown. We will definitely stay there again.

The only negative I really could foresee is that although the rooms are ‘non-smoking’ , the hotel provides a small table and 2 chairs outside each room, complete with an ashtray. I saw someone else mentioned it in their review, and I would HATE to have to walk through people smoking to get to my room as I come and go, or went to the vending machine, or pool etc…It would be nice if the hotel was able to limit those smoking access or smoking area rooms to one side of the stairs,and have rooms on the other side not have the smoking invitation right outside the door. In the rare event that every single room is booked by smokers, perhaps the hotel could also provide another designated smoking area at the far end of the building ( on the side with the smoking rooms) I just think it would be beneficial for people traveling with children, people with athsma or other respiratory issues, as well as people who dislike the smell of cigarette smoke.

The room was adorable! The bed was super comfortable and I loved the amenities. Both the room and price were fabulous, and it was close to everything. I absolutely LOVED that there was NO carpet! Coded entrance was seamless. It had everything I needed. I enjoyed my stay very much.

I didn't love that it was right on the highway; traffic was kind of noisy, and my coffee pot needed maintenance (which I didn't get) while I was there, but other than those things, it was great!

Only negative … could use an outdoor hot tub ☺️
