"Avoid at all cost"

1.0

Unable to access the property upon arrival. Bookings.com seems to only have the previous owners contact details. Bookings.com were hopeless in resolving our access issue or re-directing us to an alternative property. Travelled back home- 6 hours journey for the kids, youngest age 4. Avoid at all costs.

"Would recommend great location with great facilities"

8.0

Great location and facilities, easy access to property and as described, comfy beds and pillows

Not enough coffee pods provided for our 4 day stay for 2 adults we had 3 coffee pods, used coffee pods left in machine and dishwasher wasn't emptied. One of the towels provided had bleach marks on it but these were all minor observations which did not spoil our stay

"A nice place to stay"

7.0

We’ve stayed before and it’s lovely. The location is amazing, looking out straight at the sea. Parking permit included , so great for unpacking and packing the car. Really well equipt, nice and bright.

Last stay was perfect, this time, there was a chicken bone on the bedroom floor when we arrived and the main door lock was an on going nightmare, even my husband had trouble with it, may be it was the cold, because there was no issue previously, but there were moments when you really thought you either not going to get in or out.

"Don't expect them to fix problems"

4.0

The apartment was nicely equipped had complimentary cofe tea mild and cleaning items it was well stocked everything we needed

The bed was broken slats was on the floor and hanging down had to put them back bed wobbles about needs tlc and though I reached out to them they never made any attempts to rectify the problem round the hob is grim and needs cleaning properly the the hairdryer is a good item but it desperately needs a clean I'm not saying the property is bad just need a bit more attention to little points the rest of the apartment was ok

"Poor"

Very comfortable great location

We had a storm and it had water coming in the living room around the window and through the ceiling. We were not offered alternative accommodation.we were mopping up and were very slow at responding to my messages about said problem.

"Property is in a good position and has much potential if the points are sorted out."

4.0

The location was good along the front by the sea. The living/kitchen area was bright and the kitchen fittings were a nice colour. Fridge worked well and kept food cold. Nice bay window. Places to eat nearby and shops should you have forgotten to bring anything. Crockery, glasses and cutlery were clean. Handy for visiting Saltburn, Staithes and the moors and other lovely villages on the coast.

Questions asked before arrival were not answered and ignored even though I informed that my wife was disabled and it was therefore important for us to have parking information and permit sorted before arrival along with information about how far parking was from the property. I tried to contact the owner through various channels and websites to gain this info but each attempt was not answered. We were charged a standard £50 cleaning fee which really was very over-the-top for a 3 night stay when we didn't even use the cooking facilities other than to make tea/coffee. This £50 cleaning charge was steep as there were crumbs left on the kitchen worktops etc from the previous occupants and although there was a dustpan there was no brush attached to enable us to brush up the crumbs. It would be more appropriate to make this kind of charge should occupants leave the property in need of thorough cleaning or were disrespectful to the property or if it was say for a long let - then I would understand a standard charge of £50 for cleaning. The cushions on the sofa were very stained (old dirty finger marks and food) and we had to remove them into the bedroom as they were unpleasant to look at and certainly not very 'luxurious'. Again this was out of kilter for this £50 cleaning charge paid. The floor rug had a turned up edge and was a trip hazard so we had to place a chair over it. The cooking area would benefit from appropriate lighting onto the surfaces and preparation area. There was no drinking utensil in the bathroom for teeth cleaning or toothbrush holder(s) and it would benefit from having a shelf for toiletries. The bedding (sheets and duvet covers) although clean were very tired looking and would benefit from a refresh. The view from the bedroom window was very unpleasant as it overlooked the large industrial rubbish bins and a very neglected yard. All these things matter as the accommodation is described as 'Luxury'.
