Carvetii - Norman House - 2nd floor, 1 bedroom flat

This flat is not in the best location. Situated on the top floor in a block of very unkempt flats. Stairwells dirty, dark, dingy. The flat itself seems decent enough at first glance but looking harder it’s not. We were booked in for 2 nights but only stayed one, wished I had read the reviews.

It was mostly clean inside. Nice hot water.

No clear instructions to finding door. Was greeted with absolute filth on all back outside of building and leading up stairs and old cigarette butts and mold ect right outside door leading to smell inside was disgraceful, was told by owner basically suck it up they do not clean their own doorstep. After complaining to owner came back next day to find someone had opened up unit and been inside, we are guessing owner had someone being smart to us. Bad form from him if not him property is not secure. Beds hard old and uncomfortable

There was nothing to like.

We arrived to a very run down property with a yard filled.with old mattresses, shopping trolley with rubbish, a pile of old cigarette buttons on the window sill at the front door, a post it note to identify the number of the flat and inside a strong odour of cigarette smoke. The bedroom was small and cramped and the extra bedding was an old, uncovered doona thrown in a cupboard. The amount paid for this unit is outrageous and I am surprised it is listed as 3 stars. We had to find alternative accommodation.

Outside the door was filthy with overgrown grass and muddy,the heating was almost never on and I had to ask the won to turn it on constantly. Bed uncomfortably, bedding awful,its smelt of damp mostly in the bedroom making your clothes smell. The carpet needs replaced its smells. Overall the place should not be allowed to bookings.The stairs with luggage were a pain. No parking as mentioned upon booking . We got there to find the street parking was full mostly with abandoned cars that never move. Outside the property dirty everywhere and disgusting

The apartment was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Tea, milk, coffee, sugar and toiletries were left for us which was a nice welcoming touch

The location of the apartment isn't the best in terms of maintenance in the garden

Was very disappointed with the outside looks untidy and neglected, but I understand it's not the owners fault, but it is very of putting as when we arrived we didn't want to enter the property but we were surprised by the interior as it is very well maintained and was a pleasure to stay here
