4 bed charming, Family-friendly cottage 1694

The location was great and out of the way which I really appreciated. The decor was luxurious but also homely and i felt so relaxed here. The property was very clean and had all the amenities we could have possibly needed and more. Beautiful garden enclosed by the woods. The hosts were so communicative and everything was labelled so there was no confusion.

There is no way they could improve. It was a perfect stay.

Very spacious nice little cottage

Top of the stairs has abit missed from the step so if your in the first bedroom and miss place your footing your falling down the stairs so had to watch every move of my kids. Also they are very steep considering it’s family friendly it would have been nice if there was even a stair gate option. No control over the heating.. wasn’t even switched on when we arrived had to message the owner who controls the heating from his phone to turn it on as it was like ice! During the night the heating went off… so my 1 year old was up screaming as he was cold to touch! Phoned the owners but no answer. Heard from the owners in the morning who said they would keep the heating on longer for us.. which they did do but then it went off again about 3am which woke my children up again! We got told to press the boost button down the stairs which we done but it only boosted it for an hour then it was ice cold again. Considering it was snowing and also minus degrees when we were staying I don’t understand why the heating was not left on over night like he said it was but the radiators were all cold to touch during the night. Wasn’t much of a holiday as we had travelled over 4 hours to get there to be cold and have no sleep due to this!

Nothing

The cottage was immaculate and recently decorated/renovated. The host was very responsive and issues were resolved very quickly. A lovely card and a welcome package were there on our arrival. A lovely touch!

Two small things: For a property of this size and price I would have expected a dish washer. Doing the dishes for a large group wasn’t something we were used to. On the Saturday night some noise could be heard from the pub but if you closed the window then it wasn’t too bad.

Small touches, like milk in the fridge so that we could have a cuppa as soon as we got there. There was also a bath & shower & the two toilets helped with 6 adults sharing.

The step at the top of the stairs. My husband and I shared Room 1 but the landing outside our room had the top step of the stairs cut out of it. I'm very clumsy & was afraid that I would fall down the stairs.

Quiet, peaceful, comfortable, everything we needed was supplied, great stay.
