"Was a happy stay if not for an unpleasant issue"

Everything was good. And the trip started on a happy note with the property and location being very nice.

Although we had provided our credit cards at the time of booking and prior to arrival, we were caught by surprise when the owner insisted on being paid in cash. It’s ok if we were told beforehand but it came as a surprised and soon they started acting like thugs to collect the money. Told them that paying them was not an issue but we just had to ascertain that booking.com will not deduct payment through our credit card. Told them it would have been better if they listed their property with a notice for payment onsite and in cash this would have been clear and avoided misunderstandings. But they kept pestering for immediate payment and acted like gangsters even though we told them please wait and that we had already provided a credit card guarantee through booking.com. We finally made cash payment after making some checks. Only then did they back off. During all these while we did not physically meet anyone or was able to verify if the people that we are talking to were the real representative of the owner….this could we turn out to be a scam. We hope booking.com would close the loop on such incidents as there is no way for the guess to verify the authenticity of such claims or if the people we are talking to are authorised personnel.
