B&B Can Jan

Everything about Can Jan makes you want to go back. The staff are incredibly nice. The place and surrounding areas are amazing and the food was way beyond good.

Gorgeous setting with sweeping views. Rooms are beautifully designed – especially the bathrooms. Breakfast on the terrace was delightful and very delicious! Our hosts were lovely people. We enjoyed a peaceful two night stay at Can Jan. Also the nearby town of Besalú is a medieval gem with a beautiful bridge entrance and some great shops and restaurants as well!

Rooms were a bit hot this time of year. Fans in the rooms would help.

Location is amazing and the property is really well looked after by this family who you can tell they are putting a lot of TLC on it. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, pool is fantastic and everything is really clean. The staff are very nice.

The food is not adequate for a place like this. Dinner was far too pricy for what it was. We paid 30 euros per person with no drinks (45 with drinks) and we got a tomatoe soup and a burger. Our 8- year old was the last to be served (as her menu did not include entrees) and there was no specific options for kids. Lots of waiting to be served. Not that we hate burgers, but this is not local cuisine and you can’t charge 30 euros for it either, when you can have a 3-meal course of traditional Catalan cuisine in Besalú for the same price…Breakfast was quite yummy, but again it lacked in a good local touch. The food and its price was the only downside we saw in this place, but we recommend the owners to address it as they really have an awesome place and it is clear they look after it a lot. We also found the pillows really uncomfortable too.

Bit tricky to find - our hire car sat nav didn’t pick up the location well and sent us off down the wrong forrest track and we had to do some detective work on Kamoot and Google maps to find Ossinya! Not a major problem - and it is such a lovely peaceful location. The evening meal was the only thing that was genuinely disappointing. It was very tasty but the portions were very small and all of us were still hungry despite 3 courses (and we are not big people!) Only one choice/set menu and therefore exacerbates above problem if don’t like what is served. At €30 euros a head the meal was not very good value. But everything else was fantastic and we would love to return some time.

The place was spectacular, in the middle of a valley, very picturesque, a really great place to get up disconected from day to day life. I did not know before I went, but they also have activities for cyclist, the owner is a mechanic, they have jerseys and mallot from professional cyclist and they have routes to discover Girona on the bike. I would like to come back and do the routes that Lance Armstrong or Jan Frodeno used to do.

Beautiful B&B in the midst of the Girona Hills. Super friendly staff, they'll go out of their way to make sure you have every thing you need. If you wanna do some serious (or even not so serious!) cycling this is such a good location, right by Mare de Déu del Mont, Rocacorba is fairly close aswell, even Vallter2000 is do-able if you want to go for a big day in the saddle. There's a rumour even the pro's come to this place ;) That being said, even as a non-cyclist you will definitely enjoy your stay here, it's simply beautiful! Very secluded, if you want peace and quiet, you will find it here! The food was delicious and healthy, I only had one dinner and breakfast but I can safely say these people only serve high quality food.

Perhaps the fact that I only stayed for one night. I loved every minute of it though!

Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was really great and homemade. The place is amazing, really quiet and beautiful surroundings. Rooms are nice and bathroom is quite big.

The family Van Esbroeck was very very nice! They have received us around 11pm without any problem. Breakfast was great!

The service provided by the hosts was exceptional. they went out of their way to make sure our family had all we needed. the location is also very special, a gem nestled in beautiful countryside. the quality of the food was really high, and everyday there were new dishes at breakfast that we were excited to discover.
