This is a beautiful little house with a private beach. Before arriving I was a bit worried that the lack of air conditioning would make it difficult to sleep right under the roof. But the roof has insulation, which makes a huge difference, there are windows everywhere and there is always a breeze. I slept wonderfully. The bed is very comfortable. The whole house is very cozy and had everything I needed. I loved the semi-outdoor bathroom. The views from the terrace are wonderful throughout the day. Lighting an anti-mosquito coil on the terrace in the early evening kept the mosquitos away. Thierry and his wife were wonderful hosts. While I'm not a dog person, I thought their dogs were adorable. One evening, one of the horses came to investigate my terrace. All in all, I had a wonderfully relaxing stay.

Amazing snorkeling and a gorgeous beach. The house is a great base for your stay on Raiatea, and very conveniently located. We highly recommend taking the kayaks out to the motu, which is not too far! The dogs were very friendly and a lot of fun too. We'd love to return and highly recommend!

Only a few kms (11.2) south of Raiatea, with beautiful sunset views, on the water. Several nearby restaurants, though most only open Thursday-Sunday. Because of afternoon sun, HOT from 1-7pm.

Very shallow in front of small beach; hard to access the water to swim as there are a lot of not-healthy corals underfoot. There are two kayaks to get further out to swim in deeper water, if you can easily get in and out of them from swimming.

The location on the lagoon was amazing. We really appreciated being able to borrow the two kayaks, and snorkel from practically the back door. The host was very responsive. The location was convenient and easy to find. The host has a very well behaved dog, and a friendly cat who would stop by for a visit. I said it once, but I will say it again, the location on the lagoon was amazing.

The ants were very quick to find any food wrappers left out, or in my case, in my travel bag. Being mindful about food remains fixed the problem. We didn't see it as a big issue, ants go with a beach, but we thought it was worth noting to future travelers. The stairs to the bedroom are a bit steep, so take care at night if you are half asleep and going to the bathroom.
