"Great location but not as good as expected"

5.0

- The location and the kitchen/living room - The efficiency of the host when replying to request for towels that were unavailable when arriving - The amount of bedrooms and beds available - Comfort of the sofa - Pool table - Parking outside - Welcome basket with cereal and biscuits

- The blinds were broken in multiple rooms so there was no way to stop light from coming into the bedroom - The bathroom door kept alarming and locking when not inside - It was extremely hot in the apartment - One of the bedroom handles was loose and hanging off - the maintenance team did not turn up to fix - There were only toiletries in one bathroom out of 3 - The bathroom caddy was hanging off the wall and the cover for the shower hose was hanging off - There were no cooking items such as oil or salt/pepper in the cupboard

"Disappointing. Location and style of accommodation need to be made clearer."

3.0

Whilst the hosts were friendly and professional with their communication, it needs to be clearer that this accommodation is in a student apartment block. It is a converted student-style flat. Although it is advertised with free parking, my colleague also received a parking ticket during the stay. Dirty outside, with litter and junk on the approach - I expect this was from students vacating the block.

"Good for the university"

7.0

Very good location for us to get to a weekend university event. It was very clean and good beds and bathrooms. Plenty of room for 4 people. I would say six is the maximum although there is another double bed, it would be very hot and cosy in that one room. Junaid was very helpful and did his best to rectify any issues we had . Reasonably quiet on the road with only very few occasions disturbed by other people using the flats.

My main issue was the lack of parking on site as I had specifically booked this flat for this reason. There were maintenance issues, so we had to park on the road. Junaid arranged a parking permit so we could park all weekend. This leads me to the state of the outside, bearing in mind it is a student area, but the mess and litter outside were very bad. It was poorly maintained, and the service contractors had not done anything to the garden or the rubbish. Although it states you get a good breakfast on Booking.com, what you get is a set of mini cereals and some milk, tea and coffee. However, this wasn't that important to me, but compared to hotels, this made the stay a more expensive option as we had to buy the rest of our breakfast things. There are also heavy latches on the doors which I had trouble opening as each bedroom door was a heavy fire door. This may be a real issue for some people. As I said, we had a few other issues but the host did his best. I used the kitchen which was good. The oven and microwave and hob were all in good working order. So for 6 people it's very good value but for 4 of us, not so. However, if you want to get the university, it is ideal and not a massive walk into town or a taxi was cheap.
