Very sweet family, most comfortable dorm I’ve ever stayed in!

Location is a little complicated, up a very large hill. Needs better signage.

The hostess was extremely kind and the room was very comfortable. It is Japanese style with tatami mats. The hostel also has a shared kitchen and fridge. It was a lovely stay and I hope to visit again. The hostel is not in the downtown area, but is only a short walk and train ride away.

Mai is one of the most supportive host I've met. The rooms were so comfortable and clean. I'd definetly come back the next time.

Everything was perfect. The kitchen is well equipped. The common area and the room are very pleasant! My sister and I had our own room with two beds. We shared the bathroom with 2 other women, which was no problem at all! We will definitely recommend this accommodation to others. There is very pleasant air conditioning in the room and the view from the room is a dream!!!

I really enjoyed that this located inside a little neighborhood so you get all the charms and experience of living in Japan like a local. The owner is super nice and I loved talking to her about my plans and other things, (I personally just enjoy when the owners are interested in giving recommendations about what to do or are just interested in getting to know their clients) It’s about a 10minute walk from the station (although keep in mind it is up a little hill if you are walking with a heavy bag from the station) which I like since at night it’s very quiet and easy to sleep since there are no cars racing by at night. The convenience stores are also about a 8 to 10minute walk away, but the fridge has been nicely separated so you know you have room to put your items in the fridge( if you don’t want to walk to the convenience store every morning to get coffee and food). I ended up utilizing the fridge more than I expected since I don’t usually use the fridges in large hostels since I tend to forget what food is mine if I can’t see my items. I recommend what I did which is to remember when I was walking back from the station at night to grab coffee and food at 7-eleven, so I could have a longer sleep-in in the morning.

This was a real Japanese residential area with all it quirks and charms. The owner was super nice and helpful. And on the bed, the owner left a soft toy to cuddle with, which was very comfortable to sleep with. And it was super close to the station.

Getting up to the house requires a walk at an elevation for a little bit like 3 mins, which is ok as long as you walk slowly.

I loved the location! Tobata is such a nice neigbourhood. Not touristy at all, you get a real insight into japnese life. Especially with the hosts and the facitilties. The family was sooo nice and help with everything immediately. The hospitality was exeptional!!!

You get privacy with your part of the room.

Door creaked very loudly every time I left the room when I tried to be quiet, and the shower drained super slowly from a ton of hair in the drain.

The host was very welcoming and nice. The house was designed in traditional Japanese style.

We had the best time here! The flat belongs to an incredibly lovely, open and helpful family. They taught us a lot about Japanese culture and showed us different things in the city. Thanks to the family, we learned the most about this beautiful country during our 2-month trip through Japan. We had very interesting conversations and would come back again in a heartbeat! The flat itself is also great. It is furnished in traditional Japanese style and has everything you need. The kitchen is very big and is also great for cooking something yourself. Thank you so much for the wonderful time, we miss you!
