"Peaceful, calm, bite of slow paced and ye olde living"

10.0

Location was incredible. House is a historic and lovely example of country Welsh living. Lacks some of the mod cons but it was warm and comfy and just a perfect getaway with a lovely big garden and friendly 'neigh'bourhood horses in the field .

Not a lot of hot water available for baths etc!

"Rustic heaven."

A perfect location for exploring North Wales. Beautiful historic cottage, fantastic view, all necessary facilities. We were regularly visited by two white horses in the adjoining field, and there’s a castle just across the road. It was great for our dog too as the garden is sizeable. Rosemary, mint and thyme grow in the garden for the cook.

"Tan-y-castell cottage"

10.0

The cottage is in a great location and it is not often you get to stay somewhere that has it's history proudly engraved on the side wall. It was very comfortable and spacious with a well equipped kitchen. Lots of outdoor garden space too.

"Very good"

We stayed for 4 nights in February. The property consists of a pair of Semi Detached cottages, numbers 1 and 2. We booked No. 1 at short notice. The day before we travelled, the property owner contacted us to say they had visited before our stay, and unfortunately found some damp. 3 photos were sent, and the offer of a refund was made. We were informed it was not too bad, so took the decision to go ahead with the visit. Unfortunately arriving at 11pm, we found the damp much worse than we had been led to believe. At the time there was nothing we could do but whack on the electric radiators and hope for the best, but the following morning we contacted the property owner to show him the amount of damp. To his absolute credit, he arranged for us to move to property No. 2, which was dry and extremely comfortable. He also is clearly seeking to address the damp issues quickly as he arranged for maintenance people to assess the damage during our stay. Whilst our holiday got off to a rocky start for this reason, the property owner was able to resolve this for us and we had an amazing holiday. The damp aspect aside, property 1 is lovely. A beautiful rustic cottage with a large lounge, good sized kitchen/dining room. The rooms were comfortable, and there was a good amount of games and items for the children. The only real negatives would be that the water pressure was very low, and the appearance was a little tired. This said, property 2 is gorgeous. The same rustic cottage, but brought up to date with a more modern kitchen. There is more space with each bedroom being huge and tastefully decorated. The lounge was massive and such a comfortable place to relax and unwind. The separate dinning room offered extra space and could easily seat 8 people. Each property had a garden area and designated parking. All in all our holiday was fantastic. I can only thank the owner for his flexibility around the damp issue and hope he can rectify that in the near future.
