Cabin 246 Riverside, Glan Gwna

Everything was very clean. The cabin was comfortable and suited us perfectly with our 3 grandchildren.

There was no facility for hanging clothes in 2 of the bedrooms. A small rail in each room would have made a big improvement.

Good location. Beautiful scenery.

Very very damp. Floors puddled with condensation. Beds going moldy underneath. Bathroom had leak which was sorted within 24hrs but had to leave towels on floor for duration.

The area is close to mountains, lakes, and lovely views, its just few minutes drive. The cabin 3 bedrooms are comfortable and big.

Best time to visit during summer as you don’t need to use heating that is costing a lot of card that you have to purchase to the shop within the vicinity. The bathroom need more room or at least big glass door when showering, maybe a bit of updating. No brush and dust pan/mop but has hoover that again will use up electricity. Netflix not working, no drinking glass apart from mugs and wine glass. Parking is just right(first come first served). Overall, happy to stay, its just wet most of the time due to season we went but clean and still recommended. Quiet place, friendly bar tender at the pub, swimming pool is only open April-Sept.

Clean, comfortable and located on a lovely site

Nice holiday park, much larger than it appeared to be at first sight. Close to Caernarfon town centre (for castle, cafés, restaurants and supermarkets). Great swimming pool - the kids loved it. Good poolside bar and and restaurant, serving reasonable value pub-food. The cabin was ideal size for a short stay for a family of four. The kitchen was well equipped. Helpful cabin owner was just a phone call away. Alexa and TV were a bonus which we didn't really us very much.

The shower didn't drain well. The WC cistern took ages to re-fill. Outside of the cabin was a bit untidy (not helped by a previous occupant throwing loads of tissues out of a bed-room window - which, by the way, I wouldn't have expected the cleaner to have noticed). Oddly, when we came back to the cabin at the end of our first full day, the TV was on - I didn't discover why (was it on a timer?) - I switched it off at the mains after that.

Many verdant trees, vibrant mountain stream, lovely walks around the well managed site, plenty of opportunities to engage children/young people. Both park play equipment and swimming pool were very good, with a Poolside bar and eatery nearby. The site was complete with laundry facilities, shop etc. Historic Caernarfon Castle is a short distance away from the site from which views were a joy of a day off site, whilst catching crabs in the bay. The cabin was all we could have hoped for. We felt safe there.

The electricity went off at 8.30pm as charge on the electricity meter ran out. Luckily we were able to buy a top up from the on site shop even at that late hour, so were able to use the cabin for the remaining break. Our recommendation would be buy the supplementary charge card on arrival and not rely on the last occupant to leave enough on the charge card.
