Downtown and Cozy - 1 Bedroom 1 Bathroom - Chueca

Location good. Host good. Bed good. But the most important is to sleep well, and I didn't sleep well, because of the broken air conditioning.

The air conditioning was not working properly. The host tried to fix it but did not succeed. I spent a week sleeping very badly, as it was too hot in the room. Even when set at the maximum cold setting, it was producing air over 20 degrees, so the ambient room temperature was over 24 degrees. I booked this property specifically because they advertised air conditioning. Very disappointed on this point. Will not stay there again.

Perfect location, fully equipped apartment (washing machine, cooking plates, fridge, air condition, fan, wifi etc etc)

Sometimes there came some smell from the drain of the sink, but it was quite effectively held at bay by some "good air odor parfum" placed next to the sink.

This apartment is located in an ideal spot within the centre of Madrid, close by to Tribunal and Bilbao metro stations, as well as lots of lovely restautants. It also gets bonus points for being next to a Lidl for easy grocery shopping. During the daytime the building has concierge/security, and in the evenings the doors are securely closed. Given how bustling it was, the area felt very safe, but also quite because of where the property is located (fifth floor, facing inwards). The apartment itself was relatively clean, and had everything that one might need for a mid-to-long stay in Madrid - apart from a TV, although given that most people can probably watch things on their phones and tablets, isn't really a big deal. This apartment was booked on the proviso that it had air conditioning; in fact, it's listed as the second feature on the apartment facilities. With Madrid experiencing temperatures of 30 degrees celsius, AC is an absolute essential. Unfortunately, upon arrival we were informed by the host that the AC was not working correctly, but that if we wanted, it could be arranged for a technician to come and fix it. Given that the apartment was already very hot when we first entered it, we indicated that we would like it to be fixed as early as possible. In the meantime, we were provided with an electric fan which, whilst welcomed, did not fix the issue. Having not heard anything for almost 12 hours, we followed up by messaging Minty Stay, who manage the property. We were initially asked to provide a video of what the problem was - a request which, given the nature of the problem, seemed slightly ridiculous. After some back and forth, during which the representative acknowledged that they were already aware of a problem with the AC, it was agreed that they would push for a technician to fix the issue as soon as possible. To their credit, Minty Stay did communicate well with us and checked in regularly to ask if there was anything else that they could do. Regradless, the AC was not fixed during our stay, which caused us to sleep very poorly and negatively impacted our holiday. Having working air conditioning was top of our list when searching for a booking, and given that Minty Stay were aware beforehand that it was not working, I find it unacceptable that they did not make us aware of this to give us the opportunity to find alternative accomodation. As others have said, the bathroom smells particularly bad to the extent that even with the door closed, there's still a terrible smell. Buying air freshners covers the problem only somewhat.

It was a great location. The apartment was a perfect match to the photos we saw before. The kitchen was very well equiped.

There was a bad smell coming from the shower. This problem seemed to be known, because there will smell sticks in the apartment. Too bad there wasn't a tv (we didn't even pay attention to this when booking, because this seems like such a standard option).

Lovely small apartment with all the necessary amenities for a short or even longer stay. The location is excellent, with equal walking distance in every direction to the most well-known sights. It’s very central and bustling, yet the flat is positioned more towards the middle of the building, making for peaceful and quiet nights.

There may be a sewage issue in the building, as we noticed a strong smell coming into the bathroom. We had to keep the doors closed to prevent it from spreading throughout the flat. It’s something that may need to be looked into, but aside from that, it was a wonderful experience.

Apartment was in an amazing location and very clean. Check-in was smooth and staff very responsive on WhatsApp.

We stayed 10 days (without any kind of weekly discount) and were only provided with a tiny bottle of dishwashing gel, 1 garbage bag and 2 rolls of toilet paper.
