Elri goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. I'll definitely be back. I stayed for 8 nights and it was like being at home.

"A Disappointing Stay"

5.0

The room looked as advertised. Initially Elri was very helpful.

On email and telephonically the day of we confirm our arrival time for 2PM. When we arrived we sat in front of the gate for 15 minutes. We had to call up the owner, Elri, of the property and were eventually let in by the housekeeper. The property states that they have heating provided in the room. Upon arrival we noticed that there was not any heating equipment in the room. After asking about it, we were handed two extra blankets and a tiny plastic heater. The entire room is tiled, so it got very cold however, as we were out for most of the day we let it slide as we just needed a place to rest our heads at night. After our first shower we noticed that the shower was leaking causing a wet floor in the bathroom. We alerted Elri to it the next day who acknowledged that they were aware of the problem. She stated that the shower does not drain properly and left us old towels to place on the floor to soak up the water. Again, we let it go as we just needed a functional room. Each night 2-3 hours before we would head back we would go to switch on the tiny heater provided. This was to warm up the very cold room. Halfway through our stay while I was napping in the room, Elri sent me a Whatsapp message which asked that we do not switch the tiny air heater on as it pulls too much electricity. Given the leaking shower, wet floors, lack of adequate heating and finally the lack of hospitality, we decided to leave. For just R150 more we were able to book into a guesthouse which even had a fireplace. For the remainder of the week we stayed comfortably. Booking.com was also extremely helpful in adjusting our dates, refunding us for days unused.
