2 Bed Apartment - 7 min walk Train Station

The location was okay.

I travel constantly and have never left a bad review, but this place was appalling. Screws sticking out of the floor, mould in the shower, filthy rug, dirty dishes, and a kitchen missing basics. The oven and hob don’t work. The flat was grubby, badly maintained, and unsafe in places. The host’s only reply was “send pictures, it’s very unusual” — the same problems appear in reviews going back a year. Nothing has been fixed. This property should not be listed until it’s properly cleaned, repaired, and inspected. Avoid at all costs.

It was close to public transportation and easy to get around to the highlights of the city. The apartment had a lot of amenities to make the stay comfortable.

The living room rug looked really dirty, the floorboards were shifting and popping up as we walked across the apartment. A few of them had nails sticking up and a lot of gaps between the boards. I saw a mouse roaming the apartment at night. The building itself was dirty from the ground floor up. So there was a lot of dust and dirt. The instructions to retrieve the keys for the apartment weren't very specific regarding the address. I ended up entering the wrong building and accessing an apartment with tenants in it. The keypad had the same code as the apartment I was renting. I had to call to get the specific apartment number.

The only thing good was the location

Kitchen cooktop and surfaces were sticky with built up cooking reside. Not enough cutlery, only 2 forks, 2 wine glasses, one of which was cracked. Upholstery on sofa had disintegrated so could feel wooden frame. Mattress on bed too small for bed frame and was just a piece of foam. Overall only surface clean.

The only thing was the location and the towels and sheets were clean.

The mattress in the small double bedroom was absolutely disgusting. I have taken pictures of everything. Especially the filthy, not just stained mattress. There was no where to hang any clothes as the only wardrobe has a sign on the door staff only. It’s full of cleaning supplies. Stains in the rug in the lounge area. Brown stains on the tiles in the shower cubicle. Plastic edging on the shower door very brown. Nothing a good clean couldn’t fix. I pulled the sofa out from the wall to get to the lamp switch and the dust behind that and on the skirting was months worth of dirt. The whole place needs a deep clean and a makeover. It’s very tired and cheaply decorated. It’s three floors up and the stairwell is absolutely filthy. No lighting in the close at all at night time. A very scary place to stay. The floorboards are very dangerous and creaky. I tripped on one, and I tripped into the toilet as there is a step that USA bit higher up into the toilet. This should be emphasised with white paint or hazard tape.
