Lorenzo in Klanice (Haus 2 für 6 Personen)

Die Schlafräume sind von der Küche räumlich getrennt und durch eine Außenstiege erreichbar, bei schön Wetter kein Problem doch wenn es regnet..... es gibt eine überdachte Terrasse mit schönem Ausblick, Tisch, Bänke und Sonnenliegen mit Auflage.

Der direkte Nachbar hat Hühner und einen Hahn der zwischen 3 und 5 Uhr zu schreien beginnt. Dann sind alle wach. Dazu kommt ein weiterer Hahn im näheren Umfeld der dann ebenfalls schreit. Ans schlafen ist dann nicht mehr zu denken. Weiters fehlen Kleinigkeiten wie Salz, Pfeffer, Öl, WC-Papier.

The view from the upper floor terrace and from the outcrop where the grill is located, is very nice (minus the mess of the neighbour next door, but that's a minor issue). Especially in the evening and at night, when the weather is fine and the lights are on, the view of the bay is absolutely marvellous. The rooms are quite spacious with blinds that help to darken them even in the day, if one wishes to rest. The kitchen is well equipped with all modern amenities, the TV is hooked up to Astra and Hotbird and we also managed to get a signal for Raspberry Pie and Chromecast in the kitchen, so we were able to stream on the TV and use it as a computer. The wi-fi is very good in the bedrooms, it somewhat works in the kitchen, not really working on the terrace. For the upstairs apartment there is parking space provided on the concrete path next to the stairs leading to the first floor. The owner is very nice and speaks good English, he's very helpful. There is also a nice lady, probably the owner's relative, who speaks a bit of German and English. During our stay she gave us figs, bundt cake and apple pie. She also sold us some eggs for a very nice price. The house is accessible through three roads turning into the village from the main road. The lowest road is the one most narrow, it's better to drive in through the road Rasopasno side. Soline mud beach is just 3 minutes away by car. There are lots of "wild" beaches in 15 minutes drive radius and nice "city" beaches in Cizici and Klimno. In the cities you can pay for parking through QR code site with a credit card. Planes from Rijeka airport are not an issue in the house, it was very quiet in that regard. We enjoyed our stay there. Would definitely book again if we came to Krk one more time. There are also some quite nice restaurants nearby, check out Konoba Santek and Restorant Zal (the latter was better). The house is very sturdy, brick and mortar.

1. During first night we were woken up at 4AM by several roosters who were crowing until 7:30AM. After some conversation with other tenants of the house, we decided to approach the owner to talk about it. One rooster was the owner's bird, the other belonged to the neighbour. The owner was very accommodating and also managed to talk with the neighbour to have the second bird moved. We were quite happy with this, as the noise was... substantial. Other roosters in the village were not as loud, probably located further away. 2. Upon our arrival there was a nasty smell from the bathrooms and a bit of mould. The owner quickly got rid of the mould with a mould remover from Lidl. He also ordered some caps for the metal drains. Not sure if he managed to install those, as the smell would sometimes return. We learned that it was useful to always pour some water into the showers after using the toilet. The owner responded very quickly to our remarks and basically tried to resolved any issue the same day. 3. The upper apartment is separate from the kitchen. The bedrooms are upstairs and you have to walk half a floor outside to get to the kitchen which has separate key and door and is on the same level as main terrace. We were surprised at first but grew to like it. Since the weather was mostly fine, it was a non issue and we ate our food on the terrace anyway. I'm writing about this so that other people renting are not surprised by this. We missed this in the description. The kitchen is JUST for the upstairs apartment, but it's not directly connected. FYI, to close the kitchen door you have to drag the door shut and then yank the handle upwards pretty hard, otherwise the key won't turn. 4. The washing machine hidden under the stairs required couple cleaning cycles before we put any of our clothes in. It's a bit stale. Probably the issue arises when it is not in use for some time. Wy stayed for two weeks, so finally it got some use.
