Salty Dog, The Bay, 2 bedrooms with ensuites, parking for 2 cars, 2 dogs welcome

The place was light, bright, and comfortable throughout, with a warm and welcoming feel. It was thoughtfully equipped and nicely decorated with a lovely Salty Dog theme. It felt very safe and quiet, and when there was a minor boiler issue affecting the water/heating, it was sorted within minutes of me reporting it, which was greatly appreciated.

Nothing major at all, but something I’d consider for next time is how busy the road outside can get. I had my young dog with me, and she barked at people walking past, especially if they had dogs.

Great location - really close to the beach and the facilities on site were fantastic - it was great that an activities pass was included; plenty of exercise! We liked that there was parking next to the property and the on-site shop was really handy The beds were really comfy and there was an unexpected selection of books and games at the property to entertain us on rainy days. The owners had thought of lots of additional things such as dog leads and extra beach chairs. The cabin was carefully decorated and we really enjoyed our stay.

Whilst the property is dog-friendly, we couldn't let the dog off the lead when outside as the "patio" isn't enclosed and opens directly onto a road (albeit an access only road). The lovely bi-fold door opens on to this patio, so if we had those open, we also needed the dog on the lead for safety - a slight annoyance when we wanted to cool the cabin.

nice neighbourhood with sufficient facilities, shops, pub, chemist, swimming pool and gym to provide you with all you need when home based and in a central position geographically to visit the surrounding resorts etc in daily trips. On the four night stay we visited Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington & Filey and traffic was quite decent to drive in.

Only one thing the weather was wet, windy and sunny at times, but that didn't stop us being out and about all the time we were there.

Everything with salty dog was excellent, the welcome pack and the toiletries was a welcome surprise and was much appreciated 👍

There was nothing we didn't like it was amazing everything we needed was in the lodge

Excellent facilities with lots of surprise extras.

Struggle to lock the door, however we got the hang of it after a few goes.
