Glamping Dome 1 - 10 minutes from Kings Canyon

the eclectic style, quietness, and closeness to the park. driving directions given by the owners was critical.

first impression is poor as you drive up a single lane road past numerous run down areas and piles of junk. Once past this, the property and accomadations were wonderful.

Wow what a stay this was, we were on our honeymoon on a road trip and this was the perfect stay for a relaxing evening. The hosts thought of EVERYTHING, it was equipped with everything you need from cooking, to storing food and the TV was great with Netflix and other channels. We spent most of the evening outside where everything came to life, with zero light pollution the scenery was literally out of this world. Some of the wild life we seen where deer, chipmunks, owls and many other creatures. We even seen a falcon 9 rocket take off which was a bucket list item! The bathroom facilities were great just a short walk from the dome and again had everything. If I ever end up in the king's canyon area again its 100% stay for us!

It was fine for us as we were given a Land Rover Defender as a courtesy car but the dirt track up to the domes could be challenging for some type of cars, narrow, steep and rocky.

All the little things that you might need were there. We loved the outdoor kitchen and picnic table. Amazing views and very comfortable and homey.

Position of the dome is perfect to visit King's Canyon The Sequoia NP is far away, general Sherman is about 1h drive We visited both NP in one day, by staying in the glamping dome 2 nights the dome is fantastic, place is quiet and clean, only down is the bathroom outside the room but it is very manageable (if it doesn't rain...) everything is perfectly clean, the check-in was straighforward

The location is amazing, close to Kings Canyon's (and Sequoia's north) entrance, and our dome (1) was surrounded by beautiful nature and some views of the mountains. It was very peaceful and quiet, comfortable, the little kitchen has everything you need for simple meals/coffee. There is a very small market nearby (12min) as well. The outside kitchen has a grill and what we liked the most: a filter with hot and cold water. The bathroom had good shampoo/conditioner (Aussie) and soap. Communication with the hosts was easy, they were responsive and gave all the information we needed.

The only thing is that the pillows were uncomfortable for us - too high/too firm. The bathroom door could not be locked using the code provided, but it was not a big issue, we just had to carry the key to be able to lock it. There was a little frog in the bathroom (which is not a surprise for those used to camping or locations surrounded by nature) - but every day we had to gently put it outside as it came back even with the doors locked. Just remember to close the toilet lid all times - at some point it gave up and didn't come back as it could not find water.

Peace. Natural environment. Rustic ambience. Outdoor kitchen. Watching woodpeckers as we cooked supper on the outside bbq. Gazing at the stars. Listening to the birdsong in the morning. We loved it….

Comms via booking com was disjointed and key info was buried in multiple vague emails. Not sure if focus was on ‘Glamping’ or ‘rustic’ - we loved the natural environment and the birdsong. I could imagine others being disappointed in the ports cabin toilets, the unswept deck, and lack of clothing storage. Also the ‘kitchen’ in the tents is only suitable for breakfast, very little space to prep food. Outdoor kitchen was fine, and loved the bbq. Some guests might be off put by the obvious animal activity traces… not clear when that kitchen was last cleaned!
