The Stables - 2 bed with large garden and hot tub.

The garden is beautiful and was absolutely perfect for our two young children. They enjoyed everything about it.

The grounds are amazingly kept, our 4 year old was in her element.

Unfortunately it was not clean on our arrival (smelt like wet dog, oven, kitchen utensils and plates dirty, freezer wouldn’t close as it was so full of ice, outside table hadn’t been wiped to name a few things) The mattresses aren’t great. There’s one thing with furniture being outdated but it being unclean is another thing entirely. Didn’t use the hot tub. No welcome, hello or wave from owners. For the amount charged, buyer beware.

Relaxing area with a beautiful garden

It wasn't stated online that the owners house is looking right at you. It was a lot of money for a two night stay and not the cleanest. There was many cobwebs, dirty skirting boards etc. The beds were really unfortunate and the bunk beds were like planks of wood. The oven wasn't the best & things were dates, odd or old. There was only 4 plates when the property held 6 people! I think some TLC could have gone into it for the price you pay.

Great location and our family really enjoyed the hot tub, tree house and the rope swing.

The location is great and, if you're travelling with dogs, this property is worth considering. There's a big garden and the dogs can run freely.

The issue was with the hot tub. The chemical levels were so high that my husband and I both developed sore legs - redness/itching/burning. We exited the hot tub as soon as we realised, but this discomfort lasted for four days after the event. We reported this to the host, both at the time and since we returned home. The host was adamant that the chemical levels were appropriate. However, we are familiar with hot tubs - we own one and have stayed in many places that have them - and we've never experienced a reaction like this before. That we both reacted so badly further adds to the evidence. The host wasn't prepared to discuss a partial refund - this is their prerogative. Hopefully, the hot tub is all sorted now and won't be a problem for anyone moving forwards, but considering the levels of discomfort, and that we were unable to use the hot tub despite having paid for it, it felt only right to leave this review.
