"Exceptional"

Everything. The location was perfect with the nature reserve so close by and convenience of the number 70 bus stop a few steps outside the front door, beautiful garden and comfortable accommodation. We plan to come back again soon!

"A lovely stay spoilt by not being cleaned properly before our arrival (assuming letting agent)."

7.0

As a nature lover and dog walker - the property was ideally located for us to walk into Christchurch. Other than the complaint below about kitchen hygiene and once that was rectified the house stay was good and suited our needs.

Couldn't go out into the garden when we first arrived. Opened the patio doors to an incredible smell of rotting food and blue bottles flying everywhere. There were four large black bin bags just left on the patio literally right outside of the patio door baking in the sunshine - the food inside was obviously rotting and some of the bags had been torn open by rodents or birds and food particles were spilt onto the slabs, the stench was unbelievable. There wasn't any obvious dustbin at the property for the bags to have been disposed of correctly, tried the keys to the locked gates adjoining property in case the bin was in there - but they didn't fit so had to go in search of black bins on the nearby recreation car park to enable their disposal. Packed the bin liners into new black bin liners and carried them down the street :( Not a good first impression upon arrival and my first impression was 'what have I booked??' ) and not the way I envisaged my first day's holiday after a long car journey. If I hadn't had done this I would not have been able to go out into the back garden at all. The plastic bowl in the sink was dirty with some kind of brown slime residue and needed replacing, so I removed it and did not use it for washing up. Photographs of the full bin liners are available if needed. The fridge needs defrosting as there is a large build up of ice inside the food storage shelving.
