Location, quiet, cosy, garden.

Some pans not working on induction hob, lethal headbanger of a lintel outside bathroom landing, no cafetiere or machine, super mean on pan scrubber, tea towels, no oven gloves, bin bags.

Nice and well equipped. Beds were excellent

Unfortunately the property has a lot of steps which were difficult to navigate for my elderly parents.

The location was perfect for popping out around Whitby. The house is lovely.

Stairs are very steep so wouldn't suit anyone with less mobility.

Could’ve done with an extra chair in the lounge. Mirrors needed in ALL bedrooms. Less cobwebs!

Quaint and quirky cottage. Very homely and excellent location

The cottage is behind The Magpie, easy to find really, no parking close by tho, used harbour car park, not to far away, good location in the town for amenities. Very nice inside, feels like you could just move in. Comfortable lounge with logs available to use in the burner (which was needed in this cold weather) comfortable beds, plenty of bedrooms to choose from. Nice kitchen area.

My wife's elderly parents, both 75, didn't like the tight curly stairs, but that's cottages for you. When you come out of the kitchen there is a little step up before you go down the 3 stairs, that is quite dangerous tbh, it caught all 5 of us out & drinks were spilt & people fell including myself & im fit & healthy. Wife's parents had the 1st floor double room (warm & cosy) so we had the attic double room, which would not get warm, even with an undersize radiator in the corner of the room set a 21°. The bathroom was way to small tbh, the shower is quite piddly with no power, is very noisy & also very low, im 5'10 & had to duck while showering as the overhead shower is just so low, my son also hit his head on the bathroom door frame as its so low. There was a lot of dust/cobwebs about in all the rooms, so not cleaned to well im guessing. We asked politely if we could get there earlier than the 4pm stated as we had elderly parents with us & we didn't want to hang around in the cold walking round for hours before we could get our things in & save all the extra walking to & from the car park. They said 'No'....but you can pay extra to get in earlier if you like.. £80 for 1pm, £60 for 2pm & £40 for 3pm....Also if we wanted to arrive a day or two early we could at a reduced rate....So we knew the place had been empty for a while, had not been cleaned very well, but they still wouldn't let us arrive a few hrs earlier without paying more money & they wanted us out at 10am.

Lovely cottage in the heart of Whitby with all the bits and pieces you can ask for, lovely garden area and plenty of bedrooms.

Tricky to find and no parking close by, there was a bit of mess on the garden and beware of the Yale lock.. we left our key inside by mistake and got charged £75.
