I booked a room, and (what a surprise) the AC did not work and I was not informed about it. I had to stay in a very basic room that looked like a prison at a small discount. Since it was just an overnight stay before the flight, I agreed, but I did not like it.

It had everything we needed and more - it was clean and modern .

Even though my arrival was really late, the host welcomed me warmly with thankful airport pick-up service.

The host arranged me transportation to Colombo and sightseeing tour. I paid the price for both of them at this hostel, but ended up finding out the host just passed transportation fee to the driver so that I couldn't receive sightseeing tour service... I'll never know who is telling a lie, but recommend to arrange everything by yourself to avoid any trouble..

Choosing the Eco Lodge is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I've stayed at at least 100 other holiday accommodations: this is the best experience I have had holistically. It's a challenge to write a review worthy enough to describe how much each element exceeded my positive expectations. From the moment I booked to the airport pickup then drop off with everything in between: smooth, stress-free, responsive, clear, organised... you know when you meet people who excel so much at their job, giving you the sense that they are doing exactly what they should be doing in life? I don't have words worthy enough of Terin and his wonderful team Anushan, Bala, Ranjan et al. So authentic, friendly, professional: it feels like being with your favourite family members. They made my time 10x better, incredibly enriching to say the least. Their kindness was beyond exceptional; I felt very looked after, safe and pampered. Plus the other guests were awesome. The room was perfect, the bathroom was excellent, the WiFi was flawless, the aircon was superb, the food was delicious, the drinks were fantastic, the designs were delightful, the surroundings were beautiful, the circular economy innovations invaluable... Plus all the recommendations e.g. ideas of what to do, restaurants, spas, transportation, attractions... Internally and externally all of it pristine, high quality, memorable and many more things. I could go on and on, truly(!) I truly felt that I was living my best life, thanks to these brilliant ambassadors for Sri Lanka. Really the best of the best. I was gutted to have to leave, it's the kind of place where you wish you could stay forever. It goes without saying I'd come back in a heartbeat. I honestly feel I should write even more however I'm sure you're busy dear reader 😄

Close to the airport, free airport pick up, easy and prompt communication with friendly staff, clean, great free breakfast, helped us find a great private driver to our next stop in Sri Lanka.

Only stayed one night, friendly owner picked me up only a few minutes after I messaged him. Gave me a free beer to drink whilst checking inn. Great rustic room with excellent air con. Let me stay in after checkout time for free. Defo will return.
