"Really disappointed, didn’t get to stay here and replacement van was not fit!"

Sadly we didn’t get to stay in this property as there was an issue, so I cannot say there is anything we liked about it as we didn’t get to stay in it.

On the morning of our holiday, we received a message to say there was an issue at the Van that wouldn’t be fixed in time for our stay. The owner swiftly found us a replacement van. I didn’t realise at this point they hadn’t viewed the van themselves and it wasn’t a like for like of the one we paid for. Upon arrival we found the van was very dated. It was very dirty, beds covered in dirt and bodily hairs, shower was absolutely disgusting, all cutlery was dirty and had to be cleaned. Chipped and dirty plates, cups & glasses. Mould in the bathroom, god knows what smeared up the radiators. Chipped cupboards, holes in the floor, parts just falling off. There was no wifi and having young children I wouldn’t have agreed to this replacement had I known that. No extra toilet which was really needed for a family of 5 and no additional tv which we had also paid for. I asked our booking contact if we could have a partial refund, even just the price difference between what the two vans cost as I was trying to be reasonable. This was agreed but later we were told that only £80 would be refunded. We paid almost £630 for our original booking and the contact said this replacement van was just over £400 - so this really wasn’t acceptable. He said he would try and ask the owner of the replacement van for a refund but they refused and denied anything was wrong with the van. I called a family member to pick up our disabled son early as he couldn’t handle the conditions. He left after 1 night. We then as a family agreed we couldn’t stay for the duration and left early too. While I can appreciate things happen and our booker did try and find us a replacement, it was not suitable at all and is one of the worst vans I’ve ever stayed in. Sadly for this reason alone, I cannot recommend booking through this booker and won’t do so in future. It was our first holiday mon-Fri in years and we tried to get some rest bite for not only us but our children who are disabled. It was ruined.
