411 The Signature, De Waterkant

I was moved to another apartment, so the comments below refer to that unit. (504) I loved the location in the city, quiet but close to all the action. The building was quiet as well, I could park in the covered parking area, security was good as was the free wifi. There were enough towels and the bedding was good. Overall it is a spacious and light unit!

The check-in / check-out process was a bit messy and a clearer instruction to reception would have been great. Instructions on how to operate the tv would have also been welcome. Both taps in the kitchen and bathroom were leaking. The "manual" that is in the unit should be refreshed

The flat is in a good location close to the V&A and the CBD. The reception staff are friendly and efficient and the development is secure.

The appartment is opposite Crew Bar which plays loud music into the early hours. I had to call the Police 5 times to report the noise, as it was not possible to sleep. The sofa and bed are old and not very comfortable. There is a stench of mould in the bathroom. The tumble driers does not work. Not enough towels.

Location was very good, front desk people were friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed and good kitchen.

The toilet stank the whole week. It was terrible. The dining table and the chairs were shaky and old.

The location is perfect. Grocery stores and coffee shops nearby. The Building was also solid. Security was always polite and helpful. It's actually a really gorgeous building in a very accessible neighborhood of the city. It also felt pretty safe as a woman solo traveler.

The hosts and the apartment itself were the problem. When we first arrived, the keys were misplaced. I will give the host credit that they were VERY responsive when I reached out through the booking.com app. And they were responsive throughout my stay. Finally, after maybe 20 minutes to a half hour of delay, the keys were located just as someone from the hosting team had arrived. The person from the hosting team tried to blame us though and said "Well, you did book last minute" so that was a bit rude. When I entered the apartment, I noticed that the hand towel in the bathroom was dirty and that there were not many towels available. I asked for more bath towels but the host told me that would be an extra fee. The kitchen table was damaged and had a lot of scratches on it (see photos). The cleaning supplies that they left guests were also dirty (see photos). And it would have been nice for them to include some paper towels, an extra roll of toilet paper, and trash bags. At least one extra trash bag during a guest's stay would be acceptable. Later on, when I was checking out, the cleaner came in without my permission. She opened my door without knocking and then when I said we needed 30 more minutes to collect our suitcases, she literally walked right in and said she would at least take the sheets. I would have filed an official complaint with customer service at Booking.com , but I honestly was at the end of a long trip and didn't have the energy.
