the bedding was poor no top sheets and crap pillows better quality bedding bathroom requires attention

Tidy place

2 out of 3 mattresses were uncomfortable. One was really cheap quality so I had to sleep on the sofa, poor night sleep.

Avoid After having a day out in Whitby we needed a stop over as we planned to watch the cheese rolling in glostershire the following day. So I'll set the scene after a long day and 4 hour drive from Whitby We were aching for a "cosy" stop over for the night. We arrived at 21.30 to what can only be described as a run down flat. As I entered the property the entrance was nice I felt relieved as we all just wanted to get cleaned up, go to bed as we were up early onto our next activity. It just went rapidly downhill from there the place was cleaned at a very low standard thick mould on the smeared windows, mould in the tiles around the bath tub, broken ornaments, one pillow on a double bed, food on the skirting boards and doors, missing curtains in the living room and a large crack on the bedroom window which also did not close securely. I contact the landlord and called him out on renting a s**thole and was told to leave the premises at 22.30 with 3 children as he was sending his "boys" around to kick me out.. that if I wasn't so poor I could afford better and if I expected the Ritz I should have not choose the cheapest rent. Unfortunately due to being 4 hours away from home with children leaving to sleep in my car was not an option, although he kindly stated he would give me my money back I would have to wait until booking.com issued my refund and leave the premises ASAP. The landlord also stated any damages I caused he would take me to a small claims court.. well I laughed and asked what isn't broken?. I went to the shop downstairs to sort the WIFI issue out to be told the last people who stayed were not very clean. If the damages and dirt was caused by the previous guests this should have been resolved in a more professional manner, not be told called poor and be threatened with men coming to the property.
