Superb 2 bedroom flat, sleeps 6

Pleasant neighbourhood, availability of parking was good for London (found a spot most days when we needed it). Enough room for a family of 5, which is hard to find in a big city. The location is near East Croydon station, which if you're going to be that far out of London is about the best place to be, as there are very frequent express trains into London Bridge or Victoria - often with no stops or only one. Very easy to collect the keys and it was very quiet at night - easy to sleep. Cooking facilities so good for self-catering. Oven works well and washing machine is good if you're there for a while and don't need to rely on a laundromat.

The distance to the station is considerable if you're on public transport. It's a solid 15 minute walk, or about a 7-8 minute walk and then a few minutes on a bus, barely worth the extra bus fare. Better if you have a car and are looking to drive to locations outside Greater London. A few things could be improved about the facilities. There is not much information about garbage collection and the bins were full when we got there, recycling wasn't collected and was overflowing by the end of the week, and no indication when the next collection was. There is no toilet roll holder in the bathroom which is a bit odd, and the heating takes a bit of getting used to, thermostat turns on at odd times. Kitchen sink didn't have a proper plug making washing up a challenge.

We liked that the property was very spacious and the facilities were very good. The shower facilities in the bathroom were excellent. Having free parking in London is definitely a bonus. The property was clean and tidy on our arrival.

Parking was quite limited, but we managed to find a parking spot for both days. The double beds were not as comfortable as expected, but they were okay for a short stay. Could do with an extra toilet, as this would be needed if six people were staying.

Very easy to collect keys. The host sent the code over on time. Host also replied within an hour so I was never worried about asking questions.

For the distance from the local train station and from London, how dated and poorly cleaned and maintained the place and furnishings were, and the lack of supplies, this was very overpriced. Can’t understand how it had such good reviews. Our bedding was not changed in one of the rooms. There was hair and crumbs in the beds and the pillows smelled like they’d been slept on. We arrived late and I let the host know right away, with photos, but clean bedding was not dropped off until the next day. We used the towels to cover the pillows and had to shake out and turn over the sheets on our first night. The host apologized but didn’t offer a partial refund to make it right. The bathtub was also dirty with hair and residue and there was no hand soap in the bathroom. This was dropped off on our third day. Several pots and pans had food stuck on them from previous tenants. There was no coffee maker, not even a simple press. There were no dish towels to dry hands or dishes in the kitchen, just a roll of paper towel. The biggest issue was that the place felt dirty. It was not a comfortable stay.
