Seaside, Exmouth Centre - sleeps 6+

We had 2 cars travelling to the property, so by having a key lock box outside the front door meant it didn’t matter who arrived first.

The code had been changed from the original one sent to us. An email had been sent to us saying there was a message on our booking, but that came while travelling. So we didn’t realise until after we’d struggled with the old code. Once I’d checked emails and had new code, we were straight in.

The house was clean and spacious, and the kitchen was well equipped. The garden area was pleasant. The location was good for town and beach. Although by chance, I met a person standing in for the host on the first day who was very helpful in locating parking and providing directions to shops and beach. She was also very responsive when we had a problem with the hot water. She organised a plumber and kept us informed throughout.

The boiler malfunctioned, and we had no hot water for the first 24 hours of our stay. The decking in the garden is deteriorating in places and felt a little precarious. We were asked to transfer food waste from the kitchen caddy to a bin outside, but the bin appeared to contain foul liquid.

The property is located close to the town centre and its many bars and restaurants and also within easy walk of the beach. Comes with 2 parking stops just around the corner.

As others have said this property is extremely tired and in need of some basic renovations and redecorating. The beds in the twin rooms need replacing as does the bedding which is old and stained. The garden isn’t very usable which is a shame as it’s a nice sun trap but the decking is unsafe, the plants over grow and planters full of weeds. The bbq is unusable. Overall this property was fairly disappointing for the price. A re paint throughout and replacement of some furniture as well as making the garden useable would massively improve this property.

Private parking is amazing for Exmouth. Location is spot on, central to most everything. Access instructions were perfect but I couldn't find the refuse bin. Three bedrooms and two WCs is a brilliant find for Exmouth.

Smell of greasy cooking. Kitchen cupboards all had grease and dust on them, no attention to detail for the cleaning. Kitchen floor tiles broken. Broken light covering in conservatory. The mattresses were absolutely shocking, thoroughly worn out. No mattress / pillow protectors on the beds, and mattresses and pillows horribly stained. Necklace found in the big bed. Broken bathroom lock sitting on the sideboard waiting to be fixed. Hole in the bath panel. None of the downstairs furniture was as pictured, no lamps, no thoughtfulness. Cobwebs everywhere. Towels smelt musty in the big bedroom. Decking rotten in places and garden was very weedy and unloved. Rusting, dirty BBQ. In general, very tired. Scuff marks on most walls, ceilings in poor repair in places. Needs some (big!) love.

One small negative the bathroom shower temperature was either too hot or too cold. And the walk in shower was slippery and flooded the floor as the shower tray was too shallow to keep the water in.

Great location. Clean property. Handy to have a parking space. Appreciated cleaning products and dishwasher tablets etc . Sofas very comfy.

The single beds were not very comfortable and a bit creaky. We were quite cold in the evening as the heating thermostat was capped. Property a little tired in places but no surprises as can see that in the photos.

Good location for the town but a little walk to the beach. Nice house with lots of room Keys in coded box on outside of property.

We ordered food to be delivered but the driver had problems finding the property. No near parking but the hosts did have a solution but a bit of a walk. Cold and had no way of turning the heat up. Lots of instructions to handle the rubbish and told to put out for collection on Wednesday, we were not at the house on a Wednesday so I emailed the owners but had no reply or answer.. Could do with a lick of paint all over
