Unikt 1800-tals boende i hjärtat av Dalarna

The place is unique, an old cabin that is kept in perfect shape - feels like you step into a house over hundred years ago. The owner, Erika was most welcoming and spent a lot of her time to tell us about the region's and her family's history. Also, she took us to the old Skansen (Vamhus gamma gard) that shows the village houses from the region, it also has a store with handcraft and a cafe. The most interesting was to see the regional art, jewelry made of hair, an old tradition from the region. The front deck chairs and garden are also nice features.

Some of the traditional and nice looking chairs are not the most comfortable to sit in for a longer period of time for an older person. There is only one basic general store close by, need to work around their schedule.

We love the quiantness of the house and its furnishings. We loved having our breakfast outdoors. The house had everything we needed to cook, simple meals. We loved sitting out in the garden and the smell of the mock oranges in the hedges.

The toilet was an adventure, but we got used to it. It’s actually quite clever.
