"Could have been better, maybe in the future"

Booked the apartment for 2 weeks in July. The apartment was nice, clean, close to the seashore, near the Hotel Piemonte. Kitchen well equipped, but we did not use it. The rooms were small but ok, the living room was the best part, big windows, all of them with blinds, half automated, half manual. No mosquito nets though. TV working well, Wi-Fi ok. From the top of the building you can make some nice seashore and sunset photos. The hosts were helpful, nice, even waited us with a bottle of prosecco.

As our hosts told us, we were the second guests in the apartment through Booking. I just think they were not yet ready for renting. First, the host could hardly open the front door, the key was just turning around... this is never a good sign... the lock system is just old. After entering, what we first observed, they had NO air conditioner. Yes, it was our fault, we did not observe this when booked the place. But.. we spend all our holidays in Italy from years, I never got a place on the seashore without AC. I mean to stay in a place in the summer in 40 degrees without AC is not ok. The best place to stay in the house was the living room, where if you opened all the windows, it was a nice breeze coming in, but not usable at night. The hosts were nice though, we asked them to bring some fans, and they were helpful, the next day we got two fans for the bedrooms. So take care, no AC! The second thing, there is NO sea view... the apartment is downstairs. If you want to see the sea, you can go to the last floor and make some nice photos from the top. In the bathroom there was an ancient washing machine, we tried for two days to start it, watched 10 YouTube videos how to make it work, no chance. The hosts finally sent a guy who showed us how to start it, fortunately it worked! Also, the house is equipped with all kind of stuff you won't need, but there is no hairdryer for example... One last thing, the apartment is about 2.2 km from the city center, so if you go without a car as we did, there is a lot to walk if you want to go there, but the really good restaurants are there... Maybe rent a bike. So, without being mean, if the hosts will repair the front door lock, put an AC, mosquito nets at least for the bedrooms and a new washing machine, will be a good place to stay. I would even consider to go back, but only if they would consider these enhancements and repairs. I think these are not extras but basic needs for a longer holiday on every Italian seashore.
