屋久島シエスタYakushima Entire house with a wonderful view

I liked everything about this lodging. It looked like a house lived by an artist or collector. Book collection was amazing I wanted to come back just to read. Everyone loved the space as it was perfect for group to share time together.

Nothing to complain. It was perfect.

Great location with ocean view and very large house.

Many things did not work, including the stove and for the first 30 minutes the internet was down. Luckily I had a Japanese friend who could call Yuri and speak to her but without that, I'm not sure Yuri would speak enough English for me to communicate with her. The bed was super hard so I had take futon to put on top to be able to sleep comfortably. There was only one very small reading lamp and a nearby rooster that was very problematic for waking me up super early. Plus no blinds for sleeping in so I used blankets to cover the big windows. I told Yuri of all my recommendations and I think she will improve the experience but there are many lovely places to stay in South Yakushima area and I would have chosen an alternative. Additionally, even though I had made a reservation for 2 nights, Yuri sent me a confirmation 5 days before for 2 nights and insisted it was for 2 nights so I scrambled and found a place for 1 night only to have her later admit the rez was for 3 nights. Very confusing and disorganized booking.

very comfortable house, could fit 5 people easily. everything you need was there, soft and comfortable futons. close to the beach and good view of the stars.

the location was a bit too far from the main community areas, so it was a bit of a drive to get anywhere. if anything happened, i don't think anyone would come in time since it was pretty secluded.
