"It was a lovely room and quaint, quiet place however communication was difficult and the whole place felt slightly diffe"

5.0

The room was cosy and clean with a private bathroom and the bed was very comfortable compared to others we’ve had.

Communication with the host was difficult given the language differences despite attempting to use Google translate, we still seemed to have a lot of miscommunications. We requested water several times but ended up having to go to the shops ourselves as we were not offered any. The room did have a kettle and cups however offered no drinks to actually make. We were offered breakfast which we accepted and was good but was then charged 440bht for two people which felt extortionate as it was almost the same amount as the room for the night. The vibe of the place also felt different to the images, we could not see any communal space or kitchen around and felt quite isolated from anyone else.

Pi Kan and his parents made the farm stay feel like coming home. I stayed for 2 nights in one of the cottage homes. The atmosphere was refreshing, safe, peaceful, and beautiful. I am grateful for their kindness, from sharing in wonderful meals and conversations together, to exploring the plants and handmade items there. On the second day, Pi Kan lent me a bicycle to explore town, and on the final day, his Mom helped me find public transportation to return back to the city. I will never forget my experience, and hope to return some day, to my new friends at I Am I Farm!

If you don’t have own transportation, it may be difficult or expensive to find ride sharing services, like Bolt, Grab, or InDrive. But the alternative is using the red songthaews: From I Am I Farm to Chang Phueak (There are a lot of things to do and stay in Chang Phueak): Go to the right side of the street across from Mae Malai Market, about 5 minute drive from I Am I Farm. Wait for a red songthaew there. Say to the driver before entering vehicle: “Bye Chang Pew-ik. Tow rye krup?" (If you're a man.) OR: “Bye Chang Pew-ik. Tow rye ka?” (If you're a woman.) (That is the polite way to say in English: I need to go to Chang Phueak. How much is it?) Should be about 33 baht. When you exit the songtaew, give the money and say: “Kop koon ka" (If you’re a woman.) / Kop koon krup" (If you’re a man.) (That is the polite way to say in English: Thank you.) From Chang Phueak to Chiang Mai Bus Terminal 3 (transliterated to "Arcade" from Thai; pronounced "Ah-ket"): Take a red songtaew from Chang Phueak. Say to the driver before entering vehicle: “Bye Ah-ket. Tow rai krup?” (If you're a man.) OR: “Bye Ah-ket. Tow rai ka?” (If you're a woman.) (That is the polite way to say in English: I need to go to the Chiang Mai Bus Terminal 3. How much is it?) Should be 40 baht. When you exit the songtaew, give the money and say: “Kop koon ka" (If you’re a woman.) / Kop koon krup" (If you’re a man.) (That is the polite way to say in English: Thank you.)

"I AM I is the best"

The welcome from the Owner was great. He will provide you with good care, fruits, coffee, and lovely Thai food :) You can go with the owner to the local bar in the village to have some drinks. It's a lovely, authentic vibe with the local people.

Maybe a little party at the farm would be great :)

The host is truly amazing, felt very welcomed during the entire stay. There were bikes at our disposal, washing machine and bottled water all free of charge. Ate a lot of fruit from the farm and the host even took us to a pottery shop:) over all a great experience, would recommend.

I really recommend you go by motorcycle because it will facilitate your stay, there are no taxis in the area.
