I booking room in new York, Aug 10 received this email update the room in Newark, NJ, make me no choice spend lot money have to rent the car drive to new york , and also the room windows is broken, the room key is not working, , waste of my time

I liked the fact that the host attempted to correct his mistake.

My room was changed at the last minute. I reserved a room for my brother-in-law to stay in for a night. He was visiting from Canada. The host contacted me on the day I was supposed to check in telling me that the room had to be changed. I informed him that if I did not like the room I would request a refund since this was not the room of my choice. He assured me that this room was better than the original one. I trusted his word. However, when I arrived at the house I found the bed unkept and there was a soda bottle on the bedside table! I couldn't believe this was happening! It looked as if someone was staying there so I left immediately. I thought I had entered someone's room. I had to get to work so I took my in-law to my place and dropped him off. If I stayed around any longer I might have been late. On my way driving to work I messaged the host and told him about the situation. He told me to take another room in the house but it was too late. I had already left. The neighborhood was creepy and my in-law was afraid because it was his first time in America. There were creepy people walking the streets and there was a bar across the street. Therefore, when I entered the room and saw the condition I was afraid that the occupant would return and find me there. When I arrived at work the host called me and offered to give my in-law another room. He offered to pick him up and take him there. He told me that the cleaner did not clean the room he gave me. However, it was too late because the damage was already done. I wasn't about to move my in-law again at the time of night. It was about 11 o'clock or so. I'm still waiting for my refund. The host told me to request it from Booking.com which I did. I was inconvenienced and disappointed.
