Betty's Beach House - by the Sea

Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet, es fühlt sich so an, als wäre man mit dem Strand und dem Meer verschmolzen (ca. 30M bis zum Meer). Betty's Beach House ist optimal für erholsames Ferienfeeling am Strand von Kokkari. In nächster Gehdistanz findet man eine Vielzahl von Tavernen, kleinen Lebensmittelgeschäftern und bunten Souvenir-Shops. Die Gastgeberin war sehr hilfsbereit mit Tipps und flexibler Check-out-Time. PS: Betten 160 cm und bequem, wir waren zu zweit, hätte aber auch Platz für 4 Personen (also 2 Schlafzimmer).

Konumu çok güzel denize sıfır bir ev. Ev temizdi, eşyalar yeterliydi, küçük detaylar (diş fırçası, bulaşık deterjanı gibi şeyler) düşünülmüştü. Elena ayrıca ada hakkında çok güzel tavsiyeler verdi.

Uzun süreli kalmak için çamaşır makinesi eksikliği hissedilebilir.

Konumu harika, kapınız denize açılıyor. Her katta ayrı tuvalet ve banyo çocuklu aileler için çok iyi. 2 aile rahatlıkla konaklayabilir. Elena son derece kibar ve yardımsever bir ev sahibi.

Mutfak eşyalarının tür ve adet olarak iyileştirilmesi gerekir. Çok güzel bir mutfak ve veranda var ancak yemek hazırlamak için ekipmanlar yetersiz kalabiliyor.

Great beach house. Situated in the calmer end of Kokkari, the surrounding restaurants are the better ones (they have fewer walk-ins, so they must convince with better food and service :-)). A very small, but astonishly well equipped mini-market is only 1min away. There is a designated parking space directly beside the house (only small cars recommended). Kitchenette, living room (with patio towards the beach) and a toilet are situated on the ground floor. One floor up there is a small but very nice bedroom (with the best and quietest air-con we ever encountered), a little balcony towards the sea and a shower with toilet. Another flight of stairs up is another bedroom with ensuite shower/toilet. (We didn't use that floor, but it looked like you cannot darken out the windows there...). The patio is facing north, so it offers welcome shade during the hot hours. It has a table and some chairs (there is no real table inside) and a direct access to the pebble-beach with 4 private sun-loungers (the pillows are hidden under the couch in the living room).

While the communication with the owner/manager was very good (via whatsapp) and our questions got answered quickly. The beach-house could use an information folder, explaining some things like location of the sunloungers and their pillows, the waste disposal, etc. On the opposite side of the street, next to the cemetery, there is the local waste & "recycling" collection point. After our inquiry, we were explained that if we wish so, we could separate normal waste, bottles/glass and other recycling material. The glass goes into the corresponding bin, other recycling material into the blue containers and normal waste into the black containers. I'm not sure if the equipment in the kitchen is sufficient for cooking a real meal, but who needs that with so many good restaurants close by? Still some wine glasses, and more than only one beer glass would have been appreciated. What we really missed, was more comfortable living room furniture.

De locatie is rustig en zit direct aan het strand. Echt heerlijk ook al was de zee nog koud (17gr) toch vaak gezwommen. Er zijn restaurants en mini supermarkten op steenworp afstand. Ligbedden en waterschoenen van het huisje zijn heel fijn. De host is ook erg communicatief. Het strand was wel vaak winderig en dan kan je beter naar volgend strandje rijden. Als het windstil is, is het werkelijk perfect!

We mochten wat eerder in het appartement en dat was attent maar daardoor was het denk ik niet genoeg tijd om het echt goed schoon te maken. En verder in algemene zin: In april was Kokkari ook nog wel best fris en uitgestorven en veel winkels nog dicht. Kan me voorstellen dat het in de zomer gezelliger is.

Samos Adası -Kokkari plajında son derece temiz, güvenli ve tüm detaylar düşünülmüş, 2 katlı bir evdi. Plaja açılan balkonu, denizin sesi, ferahlığı harikaydı. Kokkari merkeze yürüme mesafesindeydi.. ev sahibimize teşekkürler,

Traumhafte Lage am Strand, Strandliegen vorhanden, viel Schatten u. a. durch Baum vor dem Haus am Strand, direkter Zugang zum Strand, ruhige Lage, nicht weit ins Zentrum von Kokkari.

Keine Ansprechperson vor Ort, nur über EMail oder telefonisch zu erreichen bei Problemen, Informationsmappe mit wichtigsten Angaben z. B. zur Funktion der Klimaanlage, wo sich die Auflagen der Strandliegen befinden, kein Mückenschutz an den Fenstern.

The house is nicely decorated with an amazing view. It’s in a quiet yet central location in Kokkari, and having a dedicated parking spot right next to the house is a big advantage.

On the downside, during our 3 night stay we did see a couple of cockroaches at home. The AC on the upper floors didn’t work well, so it got pretty hot, and since there are no window nets, opening the windows meant dealing with mosquitos. Towels and soap were a bit limited, and the place could’ve been cleaned more carefully. Also, checkout is very strict at 11am and there’s no place to leave luggage if you want to spend the rest of the day at the beach.
