Room 06 - Sandhaven Rooms Double

The rooms are always clean. We have seen the cleaner many times upon arrival and departure and she does a sterling job. The only issue is other guests. Yet again, late on Friday evening, a couple arrived, clueless on how to enter their room, decided to plant themselves on the stairwell for an hour. Raised voices during the course of an hour or so at 12:30-00:01 am. Perhaps it’s an inbred thing of people in the area being on the low spectrum of the IQ scale, but all information is provided prior to arrival. It’s so simple to access the rooms! The man kept repeating in a Geordie accent: “There should be someone onsite”! Mate, just rub your two brain cells together to elicit a reaction to be able to open your door. It’s not rocket science, you absolute Rocket!

The kitchen became messy when other residents used it and did not clean up after themselves.

There was a leak in the room. We reported the leak, were told it would be fixed the next day but it was not fixed by the time we left. The drip made the room damp and heating was not controlled by us, the room was chilly.

Price location

Great for the price. We were a little worried that it had communal toilet facilities, but there was 2 of them right outside the door and they were very clean. The room was as pictured with a very comfy bed and a nice private shower with wash basin. The communal kitchen and games room was excellent. We had a brief game of pacman which was free to play.. very nice touch indeed. Parking outside the property is in the main street (Ocean Road) and was plentiful. We'll definitely stay again.

Nothing really to dislike really. I'd just have to mention that this room was high up, so there's a lot of stairs to climb. Apart from that, no problems at all.

Not just a room but also having access to the well equipped kitchen was so handy as we stayed for 5 nights and also the games room was great for evening entertainment too, really unique.

The key code pad to the front door was really tricky to use. Perhaps if it was physical buttons rather than digital it would be better. Minor issue though.

The decor is very modern and the facilities very clean and tidy and very close to the beach and Main Street

That it has no staff on site , communal toilets and the sky light widows were full of dust no heating on when entered window were wide open and it was freezing and dust from windows all over bed

Great location, walkable from the metro station and to the beach. The staff were so helpful and sent my forgotten charger to a foreign country for me. There are common areas downstairs. Very clean bathrooms.

Tbh the room I had was under the slanted roof and I found it a little claustrophobic (mind you I do actually suffer from moderate claustrophia), someone else would probably find it quaint and cozy. It would have been fine if I just needed it to sleep but I had several hours to spend there and in the end I had to go outside. Would opt for a larger room next time.
