Quiet but Central Studio 409

It was clean and had a lift.

The heat was absolutely unbearable. The TV did not work. The bedroom was cramped and there was only enough room for a cabinet one side. There was no table lamp. The curtains were a very poor fit and let in too much light.

Great apartment in superb location. Host was incredibly helpful and quick to reply.

Not the host's fault, but it was incredibly hot even with windows open, particularly in the bedroom area. Perhaps another fan (a tall one)

I personally went to be away from people for my mental health and staff kept knocking on and calling over and over to check the fire alarm and when they did come inside to look, they just confirmed it looked fine which I did tell them nothing odd had happened or anything and no batteries in remote

Thank you, Andy, and Juvy for a lovely stay. This neat one-bedroom apartment/flat in the heart of Nottingham is ideal for a short-stay. The kitchen offers everything you require to transform the space into home-away-from-home for a couple of days. The bathroom is compact, and some essentials are provided. The location itself is quiet, central, and you are minutes away from a grocery store, several restaurants, and the active nightlife— if you choose to go exploring. Nottingham train station is located approximately 11 - 12 minutes from the flat— a seamless, straight route, and if you have luggage Ubers are handy, and plentiful in the area. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe wandering about at night, and had no issues whatsoever. The owners are responsive, and everyone really helpful, and friendly. While there is a washing machine, please note you have to provide your own pods/washing liquid. It is also worth mentioning that during the summer heat it gets sweltering hot, and while Andy, and Juvy, very kindly provide a fan, there is not much circulation in the flat, and it quickly turns into a sauna. This said, I managed as I stayed only two days. This flat is definitely worth it, if you're looking to spend a night, or two in Nots, or in need of some accommodation during the overbooked Download Festival time.

If possible, the window needs fixing, as not being able to open it easily contributed to the heat. Also keeping a plunger in the apartment/flat would be useful, as both the toilet, and shower drains seemed to have some kind of blockage. But these are small things, and easy fixes.

Great location, responsive hosts to messages. Nice kitchen, well equipped with a washing machine (although the dryer function doesn't really work that well).

Firstly I didn't get the exact unit shown in the pics, the unit with the door near to kitchen is 408 and not 409. I like the fresh air so the door onto the fire escape was a desired feature. The unit I had also had 2 uncomfortable bucket chairs and not the sofa. It's not clear that the building is student apartments so the accommodations are equipped that way. With just a little bit more effort this could be fixed. A comfortable sofa in the living/kitchen area, pillows that are not lumpy, a towel hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang towels, finish painting the walls, maybe go down to the charity shop and get some art for the walls. I also had maintenance issues. The double glazed window part of the main window wouldn't stay open and the solution was to give me a piece of wood to hold it open so that I could open the sash window. The fresh air was needed because the studio was hot, even in March. The maintenance guy also let himself in (and was very apologetic once he realized I was there) because the microwave socket needed replacing. He couldn't come back that afternoon after I finished my business meeting so no microwave the first evening. He came back the next day and after 30 mins he realized the socket couldn't be fixed (the power cord went up into a cupboard) so he had to run the power cord out of the cupboard and into a wall socket so the cord stretched across the counter at the height where the toaster and kettle should go which wasn't overly convenient. Kudos to him for looking for a solution but tbh, would have been nice to be offered a different studio.
