Makena Surf: Maui on the Beach

I would've chosen ideally a 2nd floor or even ground floor condo to get the lanai cover. It was very rainy, and the lack of a cover on the 3rd floor (it came out only a couple of feet) limited the usefulness of what otherwise would've been a phenom. balcony.

Location was amazing. Great snorkeling reef, private beach, wonderful pool, tennis, pickleball. Far enough away to feel exclusive but close enough to get to Kihei and shops. Close to world class golf. MAKENA big beach and lava flows just down the road. Chairs, towels, boogie boards Snorkel gear all provided. AC and well provisioned kitchen. We made almost all our meals at the condo which saved us $1,000’s.

The condo itself needs some work and upgrades. BBQ needs to be replaced, several lights out, but generally was fine for me and my family.

Incredible views. Long, wide wiew of the shoreline. Small, easily accessible beach below our patio guarded by lava rock to the left and right. Islands in the distance. The patio is the same width as the residence with a nice amount of chairs and standing room.

The tiny beds in the second bedroom. They're probably intended for children, which we had none in our party.

The location, quietness, amazing neighbourliness and stunning sunsets!

Really only the beds and pillows were a little less comfy than we were used to :) but still great!

Perfect location. It tells you something when the tour boats pull up on the reef right off the beach from the condo. Had some calm days with crystal clear water for snorkeling. And had some days with bigger waves for everyone to play in. The pool was nice as was the hot tub. It was everything we had wanted.
