Welcoming host, excellent facilities, generous welcome basket, close to town but quiet location, excellent for walking didn’t need to move the car. Really secure including car park.

Location was perfect for visiting the area and walking to local areas. Parking was a real bonus and easy to access. Very peaceful and quiet, perfect break from work and busy life.Cottage was very well equipped and very clean. There is a visitor book and lots of local information/leaflets to help you decide what to see and do. A couple of great local pubs and restaurants and some small convenience shops selling fresh fruit and veg. Plenty of local walks and the Stardisc is only about 20 mins walk.

I appreciate that in a large space soft furnishings are not the most practical /easy to maintain but maybe a heavy door curtain on entrance would feel warmer/cosier in the winter months. May also help to maintain heat as the downstairs space is a large area to keep warm. May be more economical. Same in bathroom as felt cold without heating on. Obviously this would be less applicable in the summer.

It was gorgeously fitted and pristine, very modern and minimalist which is to our taste. It was so close to the centre of Wirksworth too, which is a gorgeous is a lovely town, very quirky (we love 'the Jitties'), the bus service was amazing, reliable and very clean too.

The downstairs sleeping arrangements were ok, but not as comfortable as upstairs, there was light leakage from the landing light. I think the shower was faulty as it was impossible to adjust so it was scalding hot or freezing cold. The TV was not connected to many platforms, it had Netflix but we couldn’t log on and were reluctant to enter our home log in in case it was stored and used by other guests inadvertently.
