"Stylish barn conversion"

9.0

Stylish barn conversion with interesting features. Warm and clean. Good location being near to pub, shops, station, church and pleasant riverside walk. Friendly hostess.

Cramped for 4 adults and 2 children. The double beds were pushed up to the wall so it was only possible to get out on one side. This proved difficult for us as we are in our 70's.

"Lovely cottage"

Lovely cottage? Very clean and comfortable, perfect for our short break

Parking could be an issue but we spoke to the owners of the local pub and the kindly let us park there if we went in for a couple of drinks .

"A pleasant place but needs some more TLC please."

6.0

Very nice property with plenty of character. Good shower and decent kitchen facilities, albeit small, but all we needed. Gate key fob good but very high if you are not very tall.

Curtains at the windows downstairs did not block out the lights which were always on outside the bedrooms. Blinds in one were not enough to stop it. And the curtains in the other were very poor as they were light in colour, and didn't fit the full width, with one ring not attached at all and centre not coming together well. Lots of light came into both rooms. The upstairs bedroom had two chairs in any space there was, so if there are two people in it there is no space for bags. The stairs up to the mezzanine twin are very awkward to climb. The parking on the road is a huge disadvantage. Annoyingly, my car was heavily keyed on the second night so I have a large bill to pay - not the property's fault, but I can only think it was because my car was parked part of the road and part on the pavement as that is the only way to do it and I was asked not to park fully on the pavement. Finally the gate fob was good for security but the front door key did not work. We could not lock it and remove the key, it was stuck in the lock when in a locked position, so had to leave the key on the lock. From the inside of the property, the bolt also hardly connects to lock it.

"Ideal for our needs, we were after a central location to explore Retford & surrounding areas."

8.0

Comfort, location, not far from anywhere in the Retford & surrounding area. A very nice pub, 5 minutes away (don't do food), have a couple of drinks & leave your car there.

As it is located close to a main road, it was noisy down stairs at night. A wardrobes where a bit to full of extra bedding, making hanging clothes up a did awkward. No parking, footpath outside is very narrow, you could possibly get 1 car half on the road/footpath, just to the left of the premises

This was a lovely conversion a very comfortable.

We found it cold at night with the heating being turned off.
