GBGreat location - we have stayed in this block twice before. Very central and convenient. Comfortable beds, nice shower. Lounge and kitchen were ok too.
A welcome grocery pack would have been a nice touch. We did get this on our first visit a few years ago. No bottled water, only one toilet roll - that is unacceptable. Why not provide some coffee pods for the coffee machine or at least advise clients where they could buy some? The toilet broke and would not stop flushing the first time we used it. I called both contact mobile numbers - no one answered and no call back - not good at all. I spoke to someone in the office who promised a plumber would attend - that was on the arrival day - by the departure day, Sunday, still no plumber had attended. Very poor and unacceptable service.
FRGBBeautifully situated apartment - the view from the tiny terrace was probably one of the best on Varenna's lakeside! Beds comfortable and apartment a good size. Instructions regarding how to find apartment and access keys excellent and easy to follow.
We informed the agency that we would arrive in Varenna by train a few hours before check in time and asked if there was somewhere to leave our luggage. We were told no and that we should leave it at the shop next to the station, which we did, and it was an exorbitant €5 per bag for just a few hours. However, after walking past the apartment once we arrived in Varenna, and having a quick look at the key safe and how to access the apartment, the lady arrived to do the cleaning and asked if we had any luggage to leave and said that would have been fine! Apartment was clean but not perfectly so - there were cup marks on 3 of the 4 bedside tables and shampoo/conditioner marks all over the shower doors. In addition, one of the bedside tables was missing a bedside lamp and one of the chests of drawers had a couple of quite big holes in the top. Not what we would have expected for the price. Finally, there was no hand soap/handwash anywhere - neither in the kitchen or bathroom - and only 1 tiny toilet roll for a family of 4 adults for 2 nights! Having hand soap/handwash in a holiday apartment is a pretty basic expectation, and again, not what we would have expected for the price. This was 1 of 6 apartments we stayed in whilst touring around Lombardy for 14 days, and it was the worst value of all of them. Slightly disappointing, if we're being honest.

В объекте не было одноразовых тапочек, также в апартаментах которые рассчитаны на 4 человек была всего одна туалетная бумага, не было ни кофе, ни чая при том что была кофе машина. И это печально так как магазин единственный который есть в городе, в воскресенье был закрыт и невозможно было ничего купить.
USWe loved our first trip to Varenna and we were thrilled to have such a wonderful location in Casa al Prato. We had an incredible view. Didn’t need the full kitchen as we were only there for 2 nights. But we couldn’t have used much anyway as there was almost nothing there to work with (as far as spices, condiments, etc. the supplies were sparse in general. One roll of toilet paper, one tab for dishwasher and laundry. It felt more like a long term Rental than a cozy home for a couple nights. The view, location, and the cleanliness of everything else made up for it but next visit we’ll look for a different apartment or try to make sure this one has been updated.
We were very disappointed by the poor run-down condition of the couches. Not only worn to the bones but faded, ripped, falling apart. They do the apartment a terrible injustice as they’re the first thing you see when you enter!
USWe loved the location and the space of the property.
One of the rooms doesn’t have curtains so I didn’t like sleeping in that room with my baby. We closed the shutters from outside but when it was raining, it would open up.
