24 Sea Lodge - Sea Viewing Apartment

The location of the property was excellent. The size of the apartment was comfortable and the views were excellent. Getting in and out of the property was easy and seamless with 24hr security. Having someone come in every 2 days to clean was great.

The responsiveness of the hosts was very poor whether you used whatsapp or the booking.com app. The airconditioning in the main room did not work at all. The lounge suite and the chairs need to be changed as they are old and have a damp smell. The main bathroom basin is tiny and the shower is a hand shower only.

The air conditioner did not work in the main bedroom. We requested a cot which was provided but it was very mouldy and I couldn't put my baby in it. I informed the owner but she ignored me for the rest of our stay. The blinds in one of the rooms were broken. The washing machine was completely rusted. The apartment is dated and needs some improvement.

Excellent location. Has the basics needs. Host was helpful and quick to respond when a problem was encountered.

Due to a last-minute trip, my booking was made on the morning of the day we were going to check-in (Sunday). Because of this, the automated messaging system was a little confusing, although this may be unique to my situation the host explained that this is a new system they are testing out, and overall I think it will work fine for normal bookings. The booking was confirmed and accepted at 10:00, and check-in was scheduled for 15:00. However, when we arrived at the apartment at 15:00, cleaning was still in progress. After a very tiring day we really just needed to rest, but the cleaning continued for about an hour after our arrival. All the apartment keys look very similar, so I often had to figure out which key was for the door and which was for the security gate. It might help to label them or add some sort of identification, such as the coloured rubber inserts that fit over keys. Once the cleaning was finished, the apartment was neat on the surface but one could clearly notice it was a rushed clean. Marks remained on pillow covers, items such as the towels had clearly been washed on the same day, as some of them were still damp when we wanted to use them etc. I’m not sure if there is more than one set available, or if items are simply washed after each guest checks out and then placed back in the unit. On our first night, the apartment ran out of pre-paid electricity. While this was inconvenient and frustrating, I must commend the host. I sent a message on the app at midnight and received an immediate response and assistance to load more credit on to the meter. While the response was appreciated, this is something that ideally should never happen to guests. The apartment appears to have been well renovated at some point, but it is now in need of maintenance, especially on high-traffic items. Many of the doors and door handles need repair, as you really have to pull them down hard to open the doors, something my younger child struggled with.
